A guide on how to beat Azelf in the Very Hard difficulty in Pokemon Masters Ex. I’ve only started playing from September, so this is my first time playing in the Legendary Arena. I’ve had my fair share of struggles with Azelf, so I hope to share some info with you guys. Hope it helps!

I encountered several difficulties while trying to beat Azelf in Hard, and had to look it up online for help. Watching Poce’s video with his overpowered sync pairs didn’t really help, so I tried many ideas and finally found a way to beat Azelf in Hard after expending more than 15 sync pairs. As for Very Hard, I expended 30 sync pairs and still lost at the start, so I had to fine tune my strategy to beat him, and ended up beating him with 23 sync pairs my first time.
Due to the allure of extra rewards, I tried looking for other ways to vanquish Azelf, when I came across Zinfogel’s video on “Sleep chaining” and defeating Azelf with 3 sync pairs. He even made an additional F2P guide for viewers, which covered how he used debuffs efficiently to lower his enemy’s stats. Although he used Vileplume with a high move level, from his video I could derive the crux of defeating Azelf, by being efficient with my debuffs.

I was inspired by his video and tried doing the same, but could never maintain the sleep chain as perfectly as he did. Nonetheless, it’s still a viable strategy that helps to reduce Azelf’s output. So here I am, presenting my Azelf analysis and strategy to everyone, hopefully helping them to clear the legendary arena in higher difficulties.
