In this video we take a look at 2 sets of battles in Season 7 of the Pokemon GO Battle League (GBL) in the Retro Cup for Great League featuring Vigoroth, Froslass and Kanto Ninetales.

In today’s video we are taking a look at our first sets of battles in the brand new Retro Cup for Pokémon GO Battle League in the Great League. This format exclude Dark, Fairy and Steel type Pokemon and will run for one week. The most popular Pokemon in this meta early on appear to be Froslass and XL Lickitung dominating the top of the food chain.
In this video we are featuring a team consisting of Vigoroth lead with Froslass safe-switch and Ninetales closer. Froslass is a very strong Pokemon for this meta and pairs very well with Vigoroth. The play on this team is to swap to Froslass when losing lead to draw out the Lick user, at which point Vigoroth will come in after and farm for an energy lead.
Kanto Ninetales is a Pokemon that was accidentally banned by Niantic at the start of this cup, due to Alolan Ninetales being banned. Niantic made the switch after a few hours and Kanto Ninetales is now available to be used (as it should be) in the Retro Cup. My main target for Ninetales in this meta is to counter Froslass safe-swaps. For this video I am using a Shadow Ninetales for some extra damage in neutral match-ups and more farm-down pressure.
In this video we use a team consisting of: Vigoroth (Counter, Body Slam, Bulldoze), Froslass (Powder Snow, Avalanche, Shadow Ball) & Shadow Ninetales (Fire Spin, Weather Ball, Psyshock).
