DeNA has been releasing a lot of really good tech units recently. While part of that is because of the new Zone mechanic, the game’s monthly streak of good and mostly self-sufficient tech units could be traced as far back as Anni N, or even Nessa if you wanted to. With at least six more types needing Zones, I don’t think that streak is gonna end soon.

So I wanted to do an all-Tech run, which was one of the earliest themed challenges I did – even before I made this channel! It’s interesting how before I found this the hardest of the three roles to make a mono-role team for, but now there’s a lot more to choose from!

Here’s how each battle went, and the sync grids used:

Vs. Molayne: Flannery / Mallow / Wallace – https://pokemon-masters-stuff.github.io/#/team-builder/?id1=10124000000&e1=0&o1=750&g1=AAECAwQFBgcICw4TFhkaGyMkJyot&s1=3&id2=10029000000&e2=1&o2=738&g2=AAECAwQFFBUWGBscHR8jJScoKg==&s2=3&id3=10127000000&e3=0&o3=750&g3=AAECAwQFBgcICw4RFBUWGRojJSks&s3=5

After that whole spiel about self-sufficient techs, I start with a stall team hahaha. While not as effective as toxic stall, the stage’s weakness makes burn stall just as effective, with the damage reduction helping the team tank the sync. Flannery applies the burn, while Wallace induces trap and acts as the tank with his good sustain. Mallow may seem like an odd pick, but her combination of Attack debuffs, confusion, and good speed was very helpful. I sped up the footage since this ended up being quite long.

Vs. Kahili: Lucas / Lisia / Palentines Dawn – https://pokemon-masters-stuff.github.io/#/team-builder/?id1=10215000000&e1=1&o1=738&g1=AAECAwQFBgcKEhQVFhgdHyEi&s1=5&id2=10162000000&e2=1&o2=738&g2=AAECAwQFBggLDA0PHB0eHyMlKSor&s2=2&id3=10116400000&e3=0&o3=750&g3=AAECAwQFBhMWFxwfIyUnKis=&s3=3

Lucas OP! I’m so impressed by his damage, and he’s not even at 3/5. PalDawn helps him get to max damage with her Sp Def debuffs – Mars must be proud that I paired them together haha. Lisia is mostly filler, but I do use her for Defog, her redirect, and to activate type skills.

Vs. Olivia: EX Palentines Marnie / Wikstrom / Acerola – https://pokemon-masters-stuff.github.io/#/team-builder/?id1=10055000000&e1=60&o1=30&g1=AAECAwQF&s1=5&id2=10245410000&e2=1&o2=738&g2=AAECAwQFBggLDRMUFRYdHyE=&s2=2&id3=10007000000&e3=0&o3=750&g3=AAECAwQFBggKExobHiMkJScoKSo=&s3=2

Another Zone unit off-typing like it’s nothing, although this was a much harder clear than the last one since PalMarnie doesn’t max her own crit until the first sync. Wikstrom is the most DPS-oriented Steel Tech I have – I would’ve used Alolan Grimsley if I had him – while Acerola tanked as best as she could with her flinches and provided crit buffs with Sandstorm.

Vs. Acerola: Sidney / Sophocles / EX Classic Elesa – https://pokemon-masters-stuff.github.io/#/team-builder/?id1=10036000000&e1=0&o1=750&g1=AAECAwQFBggKCw4RGhweHyIjJCU=&s1=5&id2=10135000000&e2=1&o2=738&g2=AAECAwQFBgcICQoLDA0PIyUpKis=&s2=2&id3=10106800000&e3=0&o3=750&g3=AAECAwQFERUWFxwfICMlKSos&s3=3

It’s been a while since we had the half sync countdown parameter, and I didn’t miss it hahaha. It’s no accident that this is the one on-type clear of this run. Sophocles was meant to flinch to buy free turns, but of course it didn’t happen so oops. 2/5 Sidney already has Fuzzy Strike unlocked, which coupled with his innate multipliers makes for a powerful nuke, but if I had him at 3/5 I could’ve made Brutal Swing stronger. Classic Elesa was required here for her Light Screen, Sp Def buffs, omni-debuffs, and Max Guard to let Sidney live the sync.

Vs. Hau: SS Leaf / Janine / Viola – https://pokemon-masters-stuff.github.io/#/team-builder/?id1=10060000000&e1=60&o1=30&g1=AAECAwQF&s1=5&id2=10017100000&e2=1&o2=738&g2=AAECAwQFBggLDQ4PGh0gIyQn&s2=3&id3=10039000000&e3=0&o3=750&g3=AAECAwQFERIVGBwdICMkJyot&s3=3

It’s also been a while since I did two stall teams for CS. As much as I wanted to go the sync nuke Koga route, I didn’t have an Sp Atk buffer on-hand since I already used PalDawn. So I went with three reliable Tech stallers to finish the job. I also sped up the footage for this, though this was much shorter than the Molayne clear.
