With the addition of Hop’s legendary event, all eight of the F2P legendaries are now permanently available as part of Legendary Adventures. And with them, they bring various boss battles that show the evolution of boss stages in the game over the past two-and-a-half years.
So I thought it’d be fun to go through all eight of these boss battles, with the added challenge of being only able to use the eight F2P legendaries that these boss battles come with. Since there are eight battles, I sped up the footage so that the video has a reasonable length.
I arranged them according to when they first debuted in the game, just to see the progression of difficulty, as I think it mimics how the game went from normal battles to 3v9 gameplay to the current 3v3 meta – one that may have been shaken up by the Gauntlet, though that remains to be seen.
I had more challenges on top of only being limited to the eight units. I also needed to use the F2P legendary corresponding to the battle, and I can’t repeat a specific combination of three units. So while I do repeat Hop and Sycamore a lot (since they’re the only two supports), their two other teammates are never exactly the same.
I’m not gonna do write-ups on each battle as they are all quite easy. The only ones that pose difficulty are the Sycamore FFB and its AOE status, as well as the SS Leon fight with its max move. Everything else is quite straightforward – the first four battles are from a time when the level cap was 120 or 125, so of course they were gonna be easy haha.
