0:00 – Vs. Lorelei: Absol / Houndoom / EX Sableye
2:52 – Vs. Bruno: Sharpedo / Pelipper / EX Vanilluxe
5:05 – Vs. Agatha: Gengar / Crobat / EX Alakazam
7:22 – Vs. Lance: EX Flygon / Support Venomoth / Steelix
9:48 – Vs. Blue: EX Golisopod / Accelgor / Honchkrow

Ddaksh Sharrma requested this a while ago, and I finally found a week where it’s (mostly) on-type haha. Very fitting for the upcoming villain arc too! (Hoping for Hoenn or Unova personally.)

I was initially worried about this theme since evil teams are notoriously not diverse when it comes to the Pokemon they use, but when I finished compiling all of the eligible Pokemon I had a lot more than I anticipated. So I had an additional restriction of not using Pokemon that are only used by the team leaders – which actually isn’t as restrictive as it sounds, as all it really locks me out of are the legendaries and some one-offs like Gyarados.

Here’s how each battle went, and the sync grids used:

Vs. Lorelei – Absol / Houndoom / EX Sableye – https://pokemon-masters-stuff.github.io/#/team-builder/?id1=10062000000&e1=0&o1=750&g1=AAECAwQFBgcKERQVFhcaGx4nKQ==&s1=5&id2=10135000000&e2=0&o2=750&g2=AAECAwQFBgcICg0PERobHiMkJyor&s2=2&id3=10095400000&e3=1&o3=738&g3=AAECAwQFBgcJCg0REhobHB0eISMlJik=&s3=2

If the small Pokemon clear (https://youtu.be/6XpmJghVHTg) had too many Electric-types, this one only had Electabuzz and Electrode to work with – which if I had NY Volkner would’ve been fine but eh. So I went with an off-type clear with Absol, which the Shadow Triad uses. Houndoom (Galactic) and Sableye (Yell) complete the triple-Dark team with their flinches and buffs respectively.

Vs. Bruno – Sharpedo / Pelipper / EX Vanilluxe – https://pokemon-masters-stuff.github.io/#/team-builder/?id1=10042000000&e1=60&o1=30&g1=AAECAwQF&s1=5&id2=10048100000&e2=0&o2=750&g2=AAECAwQFBgcICQsMDxARFBcaLi8=&s2=5&id3=10250400000&e3=0&o3=750&g3=AAECAwQFBggKDRASExQVFhkm&s3=3

Vanilluxe and Pelipper were surprising additions to the list, but it’s because I included the Pokemon used by the Aether Foundation employees, which is (understandably) a lot more diverse than the usual grunt pool. I brought them both here so that Pelipper replaces the weather before Sharpedo (Aqua) syncs to preserve the quad queue.

Vs. Agatha – Gengar / Crobat / EX Alakazam – https://pokemon-masters-stuff.github.io/#/team-builder/?id1=10054000000&e1=0&o1=750&g1=AAECAwQFBgcKDQ8QERIaGyMlKSw=&s1=5&id2=10251000000&e2=3&o2=714&g2=AAECAwQFBgcICQoMERITFRobHB0jJCUm&s2=1&id3=10114000000&e3=1&o3=738&g3=AAECAwQFExYZGhsdICMlJygpLA==&s3=5

Almost every villainous team uses the Zubat line so I knew I had to use Crobat somewhere. While teaming up with Allister’s Gengar (Rocket) is great for the poison boost, I actually went with Crobat’s Sp Def debuffing role here so that the parameters wouldn’t be hard to work with. Alakazam (Galactic) completes the team with its generous buffs, and I used Reflect so that the physical shield parameter won’t ruin the quad queue.

Vs. Lance – EX Flygon / Support Venomoth / Steelix – https://pokemon-masters-stuff.github.io/#/team-builder/?id1=18000020031&e1=60&o1=0&g1=&s1=1&id2=10257400000&e2=1&o2=738&g2=AAECAwQFBhEVGBkcHiAhIyUuLw==&s2=3&id3=10113000000&e3=0&o3=750&g3=AAECAwQFBgcICgsMDxAREhUaHB8h&s3=5

Flygon is another Aether addition, and I got the idea of pairing him with Support Venomoth (Rocket) from Zinfogel, as it completes the Sp Atk buffs and saves Flygon a turn from using Fire Spin. It was satisfying seeing Flygon one-shot Dragonite with his sync haha. Steelix (Macro Cosmos) tanks for the team and gives defensive buffs.

Vs. Blue – EX Golisopod / Accelgor / Honchkrow – https://pokemon-masters-stuff.github.io/#/team-builder/?id1=10108400000&e1=10&o1=630&g1=AAECAwQFBgcICQoMERITFRobHB0jJCUmJyg=&s1=1&id2=10125000000&e2=1&o2=738&g2=AAECAwQFBgkKCw4QICIjJC4v&s2=5&id3=10068010000&e3=1&o3=738&g3=AAECAwQFBggLDQ4TGhweISMmKSw=&s3=3

Thank Arceus there’s a Skull grunt who uses Wimpod, so I can use their big bad boss here. Accelgor is another Shadow Triad Pokemon, so of course I wouldn’t pass on the opportunity to use Bug Zone Golisopod in an on-type stage. Honchkrow (Galactic) buffs up Golisopod so that he can start his beatdown sooner.
