0:00 – Viola / EX Diantha / Support Horsea
4:27 – Tech Fearow / EX Summer Steven / Brycen
8:39 – Masked Royal / Support Seel / Sawyer
13:27 – EX Champion Iris / Wulfric / Torchic
Regirock can’t be debuffed and Tornadus prefers paralysis inducers for the Tech slot, so most of my debuffers are going to Latios. While not as ridiculous as his twin Latias, Latios does buff himself several times so the debuffs do help. With this stage having sidemons (though both of them are immune to certain debuffs), I figured I’d use some AOE debuffers for this clear.
Here’s how each battle went, and the sync grids used:
Team 1: Viola / EX Diantha / Support Horsea – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=011720&s0=1&l0=140&r0=1&p0=0&a0=0&t0=11&n0=1&f0=0&v1=015800028200&s1=3&l1=140&r1=5&p1=0&a1=13010602&t1=44141&g1=AAECAwQFBgkLDA0ODxAoKi0u&v2=003900028400&s2=3&l2=140&r2=4&p2=0&a2=0&t2=4414&g2=AAECAwQFBhESFRgaHB0eIyYnKi0
As I detail in her showcase video (https://youtu.be/V12yzl10awY), Mind Games 2 on Viola was a combo I saw thrown around a lot and decided to use, and she’s been a good asset ever since. Even without Vigilance, she’s still a workable tank thanks to all the sustain in her kit. Her main role here though is activating Diantha’s Devastation multiplier and powering her sync up even further with Sp Def debuffs. Support Horsea completes the team as InkInk takes the team up to +6 Speed and completes Diantha’s Sp Atk buffs. If I had the deluxe cookies I would’ve also given it Mind Games 2 since Bubble is AOE.
Team 2: Tech Fearow / EX Summer Steven / Brycen – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=002240&s0=1&l0=140&r0=1&p0=0&a0=0&t0=11&n0=1&f0=0&v1=009040002801&s1=5&l1=140&r1=5&p1=0&a1=13016303&t1=41111&g1=AAECAwQFBgcICwwNEBwdHh8iLi8&v2=004000061500&s2=5&l2=140&r2=3&p2=0&a2=0&t2=41111&g2=AAECAwQFBggLDQ4QFRwjJSkqLQ
Tech Fearow is the only Leer eggmon that doesn’t flinch, so I knew I was gonna use TweetTweet here instead of Regirock’s stage. Summer Steven takes advantage of those Defense debuffs with his sync, while Brycen is a good-enough tank thanks to the constant hail. Haze also helps in softening up the attacks for the team, and his trainer move’s Endurance was a good clutch at the end. I do get several lucky flinch and freeze procs here though, especially in the latter part of the stage.
Team 3: Masked Royal / Support Seel / Sawyer – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=008720&s0=1&l0=140&r0=1&p0=0&a0=0&t0=11&n0=1&f0=0&v1=011700072700&s1=3&l1=140&r1=5&p1=0&a1=0&t1=41111&g1=AAECAwQFFRcYGSMlKSorLi8&v2=006800043000&s2=3&l2=140&r2=4&p2=0&a2=0&t2=444&g2=AAECAwQFExYZGhweICMkJiks
I was debating on whether or not to use Masked Royal for Latios or Regirock since he does have Insult to Injury, but then I realized he was weak to Rock so Latios it was. Sawyer completes his buffs, activates the type skill, and fishes for defensive buffs with his passives too. Support Seel is another filler, but the +2 Sp Def early on does help with tanking. I got quite lucky with some misses here, but I think Masked Royal could’ve taken that Surf in the end since he was at max Sp Def buffs by then.
(I’m kinda annoyed that I was still facing gauge issues in the end even with maxed out speed, but eh. I didn’t have energy for Night Slash MGR since I needed a lot of Sawyer’s other sync tiles.)
Team 4: EX Champion Iris / Wulfric / Torchic – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=002200071300&s0=5&l0=140&r0=3&p0=0&a0=0&t0=11111&g0=AAECAwQFBgcJDA0QHiEkJyks&v1=009201063500&s1=3&l1=140&r1=5&p1=0&a1=0&t1=4411&g1=AAECAwQFCw0VGBkjJSksLi8&v2=0
Not as free as you think since Iris doesn’t take the repeated AOE moves well and this team doesn’t have any sustain. This isn’t the first time I paired CIris with Torchic, and that’s because his buffs are exactly what CIris needs. I brought Wulfric here for the flinches and freezes, but I did intend to sync with him in the end with Double Down 5. Sadly he gets KOed before he gets the chance, but luckily Iris was happy to finish the job.
