I think Aaron’s kit is really nice, maybe just behind the likes of Sonia and Falkner in terms of sheer utility among general pool supports. He buffs quite a lot of stats including the very rare Accuracy, and Attack Order even has Staggering 4 to compress tanking and flinching into one role. So you bet I was overjoyed when he, along with the other Sinnoh E4, was included in the ticket scout update, and I was fortunate enough to get several copies of him to unlock his full grid. I also decided to EX him as I found myself running him in team comps where he can afford to get the first sync.

Pretty standard team, with Aaron providing his myriad of buffs as well as flinches with Attack Order Staggering. Mallow reprises her role from yesterday’s video, though this time the sun is replaced by Attack debuffs from Lucian. He also immensely helps with the gauge thanks to Charging Infliction.

Aaron is also one of the few supports blessed with Accuracy buffs thanks to Precision Pals on his 3/5 grid. Guzma definitely appreciates that, as well as the faster setup so he can start spamming Pin Missile sooner. Tech Parasect completes the triple Bug team by providing Defense debuffs to beef up Guzma’s damage.

For some reason, Aaron has Bug Zone tiles, so of course I wanted to run him with SC Ingo. With Aaron’s buffs being comprehensive, I figured I’d make Bugsy the striker and bring them to Uxie. I previously did this with Hilbert as the tank, and while Hilbert has faster setup, Aaron does have the benefit of being more synergistic as well as having a slightly higher flinch rate at the cost of needing more gauge.

This is so far from my original idea for this stage that I’m not really sure what’s going on myself hahaha. I guess both Valerie and BP Sophocles appreciate the defensive buffs for Smart Cookie and Tough Cookie respectively? Ran into gauge issues though.

I’ve used the Aaron + Darach combo for this fight a few times before, and I do think it’s a solid core for it. Aaron can replicate SSA Cynthia’s defensive buffs – though he takes several turns to get there – while Darach removes Ground Zone and softens damage with Attack debuffs. I do think they can support pretty much any Fighting-type striker, and I try to prove that by using Egg Hitmonlee.
