I’m still a bit surprised there’s not a token team doing spirit matches. It’s not like the Switch stopped getting games after Metroid Dread.

I see several problems though…
* The series is quite niche and isn’t on Switch for the most part, and that includes Drakengard.
* 2B’s design would need to be altered. As a reminder, in Automata, there’s an achievement / trophy about peeking under her skirt.
* Square-Enix published the game, so it would be quite complicated to get a decent collection of music tracks. It’s still pretty jarring that Konami can offer 35 Castlevania tracks and SNK can offer 50 tracks across all of its games, but Square-Enix cannot “strongly persuade” its composers to offer 30 tracks each for Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest and Kingdom Hearts. I would love to know what was the actual issue here, because right now, my gues is that each composer wanted $1 million per track or some ridiculous deal.

No doubt he’d have added a stage that required you to play 4 distinct characters and get them all to a certain percentage damage within a time limit to unlock another part of the story.

is there any reason they wont be doing more characters for Smash? I bought it finally like 4 months ago but it feels like a dead game not seeing it being talked about or theorized about anymore.
I played it at release because uni had a nintendo club and friends were big nintendo fans. And seeing how much fun they had with new characters was cool.

Why didn’t they though? Nier while only been released on the Switch, it was rather old game since it was a PS release.
Just because it was a PS release doesn’t mean it cannot get into Smash Brother though? Cloud and Sephiroth was in Smash Brother but FF7 wasn’t on Switch was it?

There were no Nier games on Nintendo hardware so there’s no good reason to put it on Smash Bros.

Not really interested in Nier. Would prefer the Astral Chain twins if we were gunning for another Platinum game character. Especially since it’s a Switch exclusive.
