“It’s a story of boys and girls. Since this is the first time we’re releasing on Switch, the main characters are younger, and part of that was considering the userbase.”

    …what?

Also, a bit of a letdown it’s only two characters, but then again the likes of Ys Origins have been fun as well.

I’m probably skipping this one due to how horribad the last entry was. Celceta and Lacrimosa were legitimately super fun, but after spending 7ish hours in Monstrom, it was boring and frustrating the hell out of me. Who knows, maybe it’ll be fun, but this series is no longer a day one purchase for me.

Hopefully this runs at more than 20fps.

This is very early Adol then, like right after Ys 2. The Ys games aren’t always in numerical order (it goes 1,2,4,3,8,6,7,9) with Ys 9 having Adol at 24 years old.

I am happy to have less characters. I sometimes feel with a huge cast that I don’t get to know them all. This will make that problem go away.

  6. No problem for me as I usually control and fight bosses as Adol anyway(like the older games) only switch chars for enemies weakness

As someone who grew up playing the first Ys where you only controlled Adol, this game sounds like a pass to me.
