Nintendo Switch

Finished Bayonetta 3 horribly confused by most of the storyline. Ended up finding this video that did an incredible job clearing things up and wanted to share!

Maybe it’s because I’m a casual player and barely understood the plot of Bayo 1/2, but I often had no idea what the hell was going on and just went through killing everything. I knew Hashimoto left a few years back so I didn’t expect the most in-depth plot, but without good exposition I struggled to get through the entire game.

I had watched some really good lore videos on the first two and after checking found the same creator just released a part one for 3 a few days ago! I thought it was surprisingly well-done: the narration is well written and engaging, plus it’s delivered over relevant gameplay which made so many missing pieces suddenly make sense! I’m planning to replay the full game once all the parts are out and figured someone else might appreciate the recc!

You’ll find that every Bayonetta has a convoluted plot that doesn’t make sense. If your playing the game for the story, your playing it for the wrong reasons. This is not a game to get invested in the story, I’ll tell ya that. It’s just a way to go from one crazy set piece to the next.

I’m just so over multiverse stories and felt that it cheapened the entire series. Are Bayo 1 and 2 separate or the same Bayo? Hate it! Just feels like it makes Bayo as a character mean nothing. When Multiverse breaks all the rules in the universe so that *anything* can happen it also makes it so that, if not done well, nothing is really important at all. And Bayo 3 did not do it well.
