I’d rather see actual hands on reviews instead of the endless publicity for this controller.

That controller looks cool as hell, but I really can’t imagine it being too comfortable to use. The GameCube layout for the face buttons doesn’t seem right for modern games, and the sticks look a little far from where they’d optimally be. I’d love to be proven wrong though, it looks great.

I pre-ordered one! I have been picking up my switch and using the Hori Split Pad for about 2 years now, and it’s not really a good fit for Smash. I play a lot of turn based games or strategy games too, so I doubt the button layout will bother me much.
If you have any questions about how it plays, feel free to ask me in like… 6-8 weeks when it finally arrives.
audiomind5
I think having the Hall effect is cool and also having gyro is nice which was my main gripe with the hori splits.
bigtop77
Is this seamless with GameCube games found on Switch Online? Those games seem somewhat reconfigured for use with the existing Switch joycons.

Thanks a lot, I was so sad that I could not buy it, now my preorder is confirmed and I can’t wait for delivery !! Without your post I would have probably forget about it
Zephyrical16
Literally only have OG GameCube controllers and the original joycons for my switch. This should help with longevity hopefully. Thanks for posting.
SilverStarPress
It’s kind of hard to decide, I have so many controllers already. Whatever, if it gets sold out, makes my decision easier.

**STM5**
will get you 5% off
Edit $5 not 5%, so even more! but *NYXINEW10* will get you 10% which is probably more (from below)

This is really cool but I’m not sure how wise of an investment it is at this point. The Switch is likely on its last legs, I don’t know if I want to buy specialty joycons for it.
mrbojenglz
Looks cool but I really don’t like the layout of those controllers.
Alejopro30
Priced and stocked just right so the Gamecube controller zealots can hoard them endlessly in ebay and continue bragging about it and how perfect it is for 20 more years.
MJwitTheThrowaway
Although I appreciate you, my wallet does not. (Ordered two. One for me and one for my brother)
noctuland
Has anybody try it? Is this comfortable to hold with the switch?
No_Telephone9938
Are these joycons compatible with the switch build in button remapping feature, and can they awake the switch from sleep?
RockD79
I just checked my invoice from PayPal. It doesn’t look like I paid any taxes on the purchase. Just the insurance. Anybody notice the same?
Hezekai
Did they really have to bring back the crappy d-pad? Buttons resembling it would’ve satisfied the aesthetic just fine
DonTeca35
How reputable is this company & are they worth the preorder?
koager
Very tempted since GC layout and my joycons have been drifting really bad again lately.
I just wish it had NFC so I can load in my amiibos for Smash more easily.
AKluthe
I just wish there were more uses for it on the Switch. There’s not a ton of GameCube ports on the platform…

Why won’t Nintendo release a modern Wavebird?
It’s ridiculous. I would pay whatever for 4.
theplasmasnake
Those look utterly ridiculous attached to a switch. I don’t get it.

Is the biggest selling point for this controller that it looks like a GameCube controller?
Competitive-Meet-803
I have a very specific question that I’m not even sure how to ask… Wondering if there’s anyway to know if these would work with my Steam Deck? Controllers connect via Bluetooth, my official Pro Controller works great, official Joy Cons work great, 8bitdo SN30 works great. However, I have the Binbok Grip Joycons, they “connect”, but then no input is registered.
Does anyone follow and have an idea how I can tell if this particular controller will work for me?

Do these joystick drift over time?
Edit: No need to downvote for a legitimate question people…

I saw in a review that the ZR and ZL triggers are digital. So, if you are getting this to play games that use analog inputs, you might have a bad time. This would include racing games for throttle/brake control or other games like Super Smash Bros Melee*, which people emulate on PC or with homebrew on the Switch.
The Gamecube triggers are hybrid triggers. They use analog throughout the range of the trigger, then there is another button that is digital that gets pressed when you pull the trigger 100%. You feel a tactile click when you engage the digital button at 100%. If you are going to use these for Gamecube emulation, keep this in mind that you won’t get the analog part of the input.
*Ultimate doesn’t use analog, so you’re fine for that.
Just putting this out here for consideration.

Their website sucks. Don’t know if I actually pre ordered one because I went thru PayPal twice and never got to a summary screen.

Isn’t that a sex cult?

I may be getting mine this week. I think I got tracking the other day. Can’t wait to see if it was worth the money.
Megaverso
Am I seeing this right ? 1316.16 usd ? That’s insane.
Purplemaster1
Is it any good? I’m interested in picking this up, but I’m a bit wary of going third party…
fartgrenade
This was the best video I saw for questions I, and likely many of you, had about the controller. I bought one to use for my PC https://youtu.be/hY1vKcgcChw

Will they be available in the future in regular sale?
Masterkrall
Finally polygonal gated joy cons!
MrMiyamoto
It’s like $100 US? Nooooo thanks.
Wolfwoode
Just preordered mine.
I know a lot of people are gonna use this specifically for smash, but I’m excited to play Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater with this thing. I played the shit out of the Tony Hawk games on Gamecube, so all my muscle memory for those games are built around that controller.
k1intt
PayPal button is broken on that website. Kept clicking pay and nothing. Still never went to next page but I have 5 holds on my card now…. Hoping I only ordered 1…
PixelAesthetics
This seems great and I would’ve jumped on it a while back but at this point I’m very happy with the pro controller and have no reason to use the GC layout for handheld mode games.
samfishx
I bought one. Well, pre-ordered one after I missed out on them last week. I didn’t realize they’d go so fast.
So I guess some time in March I’ll get to use them.
MikeDubbz
I can’t be the only one that thinks those buttons immediately look mushy as all hell. I could certainly be wrong with that assessment, but just from an initial glance, that is all I’m seeing. Does NYXI have a history with controllers? Never even heard of them. If this were someone like 8Bitdo, I wouldn’t hesitate to give them my money for such a controller.
