I’ve not played any of these games, some friends have and say they’re good, which one of these is the most user friendly for a noob? Like as a total beginner to the genre which persona game would one recommend? I play on the switch lite if that makes a difference
My gut feeling is this? The PSP one?

I wish they could have ported Persona 3 FES instead of P3 Portable.

If you only want to play one, play P5R. If you want to commit to all three, start with 3 and go chronologically.
Playing P3P after 4 or 5 will feel downright archaic and unforgiving, whereas if you play in chronological order, you can really appreciate the refinements in the gameplay in each game. The QOL improvements from game-to-game are *huge*.

Will this be on a cart?

WHY did they decide to port Portable over FES or the original? The point and click style is just so… so bad. It also would have been so much better to release P3Portable first before the other two. After playing P5Royal, P3Portable is going to look and feel just so outdated I doubt people going into it would like it at all.
P4Golden is still the best imho. Way too good with better music. Even so, after 5 it will still feel pretty outdated in comparison.

Art style looks so much better than 5. 5 screen is so cluttered

How is the difficulty in this game? If I liked Nocturne and SMT5 on Hard, could this game offer a similar difficulty level?

I’d be all over this if it was a definitive edition that combined fes and portable. Persona 3 might actually be the best Persona game of them all. The portable port though, cuts back too much for me.

Pro tip for those who already played 5: since it’s a long game (still shorter than P5) and if you don’t want to do both make and female route, if you don’t care about the sex of the character and like social links, pick female protag. Original social links for the male MC were somewhat simplistic, and the male members of the party even lacked their own SL, and doing the SL of a female always end in romance. P3P was written after Persona 4, so Social links are better.
Also, if you beat Persona 3 Fes years ago, you should definitely try the female character. Her personality is more defined, and there are more than enough dialogue changes to make her worth playing

P3P is the one I actually want to play, but having played P5R recently and with the rumors of P3 getting a remake I think I’m gonna wait and see.

Graphically it looks better than I was expecting. It’s obviously still nothing compared to P5 or even 4 (wouldn’t expect it to be, that’d require a full remake ) but it is better than the PSP version.
