I’ve been waiting for this announcement for almost 20 years. I can’t believe we are finally getting the two Rhapsody sequels in English 24 years after release.
This contains Little Princess and Angel’s Present, the direct sequels/prequels to Rhapsody A Musical Adventure. Rhapsody recently came out with La Pucelle as part of the Prinny Collection Volume 3, with La Pucelle also being part of the larger canon of the series. They are charming RPGS with musical numbers as their gimmick. These ditch the SRPG elements from Rhapsody and do a traditional turn based RPG so it should be harder than Rhapsody.
This made my year. I’m incredibly happy to see this finally happen complete with English voicing. I’m on cloud nine.
Is there a legal way of playing the first Rhapsody game, preferably in English? I remember the trailer for the ps1 game on a demo disc I had, and I always wanted to try it!
I’m surprised there are not more games that are musicals.
I guess Conker’s Bad Fur Day is a musical and if you stretch the definition, something like Persona or Nier could be considered musicals
Switch continues to become more and more of a JRPG Shangri-La. To think we’ll have the whole Marl Kingdom trilogy on one modern platform! Looks like the sequels’ combat is conventional turn-based, though, which incidentally might be a big reason why Rhapsody’s own NDS port changed its battle system so radically – after all, it came in the wake of the sequels, too.
I SCREAMED when I saw this!!! I’ve wanted to play these so bad for 20 years now and I even tried to campaign for these sequels back when they released Rhapsody DS on their forums and by email.
All we need now is [Marl Kingdom: Happy hunt](https://lostmediawiki.com/Marl_Kingdom:_Happy_Hunt_(lost_mobile_web_game;_2001)) (Which is lost media now, even in Japan) for the west to have all of the Rhapsody games!
Wow, TIL that Rhapsody had untranslated sequels. I loved the original on PSX!
Wow never thought I’d see the day. These are very wholesome games.
I have waited so many years for more marls Kingdom. As a little girl, I was absolutely obsessed with Rhapsody a musical adventure and I still have all the English songs memorized by heart. This is the best news all year for me! Pre-ordered my LE immediately.
