MY BODY IS READY! What a reveal. I thought he would never grace a new video game system.
No Steam release, sad (joke)
This caught me so of guard. Made the direct for me
This and Fantasy Life completely caught me off guard, and am super hyped for both. I thought both series were dead.
We got a tralier for Kazutaka Kodaka’s new game;
We got one of Shu Takumi’s greatest work now remastered;
Now we also got a new Layton game? What is this, Christmas for AVG fans? Now we just have to wait Capcom to release any information about AA7.
This was a nice surprise!
I literally could not believe what I was seeing when they revealed this. I’m SO excited. And maybe we’ll get a port of the DS games????
I am super excited about this but I am also worried about the quality of the puzzles. I really did not like the puzzles in Layton’s Mystery Journey because most of them were just trick questions instead of actual puzzles.
I do really like the look of the trailer though. So I am still excited.
I’ve only played 2 games from the DS era and it already made me make an unbreakable attachment to this series.
I have fond memories of solving the puzzles, one time I got stuck on one and was unwilling to use hints so I asked my friend, who also got stuck and then asked her friend and then after that basically half of everyone in my class was trying to figure this puzzle out until we finally got the correct number.
This was one of those wishful thinking moments that actually came true. I’M SO HAPPY. Level 5 is back!!!
This made me so ducking hyped 🙂
Been YEARS since Azran legacy. And I honestly thought the franchise was retired after that “reboot” they did with his before-then non existent daughter didn’t do as well (because it was by far the worst of the franchise).
To bring back not only the franchise, but Layton himself, makes me so fucking happy 🙂 just wish they showed more tbh. But if this can live up to the quality of Unwound future or any of the other 2 trilogy games it will be a huge success imo 🙂
I wasn’t ready for the surprise heart attack from Level5 today but it was worth it.
They’re coming back to NA and bringing a new Layton with them woohoo!
I was already at heart attack level when I saw Ghost Trick and Fantasy Life but thissss???? I have perished I am dead
Played the DS games to death growing up, and a couple months ago I realised I had never actually played the 3DS ones. I got myself pre-owned copies, and only finished Azran Legacy only a couple weeks ago so this is very apt timing!
Remaining slightly cautious though because, as others have pointed out, the quality of puzzles in Millionaire’s Conspiracy did have a bit of a drop off (I think people attribute this to the passing away of the ‘puzzle master’ from the original games iirc)
I was just looking at my DS games in the last week and was thinking I needed to pick Professor Layton back up (I never finished the ones I have). This was a welcome surprise!
This tiny teaser is the most exciting news I’ve heard in quite some time.
Mind your manners, gentlemen and ladies….we’re puzzlin’.
werent the latest prof layton games awful? whats the hope for any of this being good
Is this coming anywhere else too?
Oh, damn! This is an amazing announcement!
Was playing all Layton games on my N3dsXL a few years ago and was sad as I thought the series is dead. I’m beyond hyped for this!
I thought it was about deemo 2.
Man I love professor Layton games so much, but holy shit that title is just so awkward and weird. “The New World of Steam”?
I’m reeeally curious if they’re going to continue or drop the Katrielle storyline. I thought the final case of Mystery Journey almost redeemed that whole game. There was potential there, also I’d like some answers. What a tease of a cliffhanger.
But I definitely felt the loss of the series’ puzzle-maker in that, hope this one’s a return to form in that regard.
