I imagine this was originally meant to be bonus missions in Bayonetta 3, but that it ballooned-up to the point where they decided to release it as its own game. Just a guess. Interesting that these hands on reports suggest it might actually end up being critically well received, possibly even more so than Bayo 3 (which divided critics).

Maybe I’m crazy but the art style reminds me of Okami and seeing Platinum revisit this style makes me happy

I’m definitely interested in this game. It seems like a weird step for the series and being full price is surprising, but if it ends up being really good I’m here for it.

Watched the preview. The guy who narrates the video gives some pretty promising feedback in my opinion, but nothing too substantial to really make heads or tails of. There was also no footage we haven’t already seen between the Bayonetta 3-included-demo and the initial game awards reveal trailer. That footage played on loop the entire video as he spoke. There’s a Nintendo Direct slated for tomorrow afternoon, teasing a showcase of the games that are to come in the first few months of this year. My guess is that they will show more of the actual gameplay tomorrow, if it’s part of the Direct. Either way, anything that expands the Bayonetta world and lore is a win in my book. I’m honestly already excited for this game and I’ve had it pre-ordered since the announcement!
