If they made a switch controller setting it would kick ass on the switch

    Xbox wins

So I can’t use Gyro on neither of them.

    What a shame.

Xbox is fine but with no online play it’s pointless

  4. I really hope Goldeneye on NSO gets an SP version with all of the levels and cheats unlocked. It was an ordeal doing it back in Highschool and I just can’t bring myself to do it again.

I have both and I love the switch version. It seems like Xbox takes out some of the mechanics like leaning, and the sprinting seems off. I also don’t think you should be able to move while aiming. A lot of the challenge is taken out. Using 1.1 control scheme works great on switch. You just use the right thumb stick as the c buttons. It’s less precise, but you don’t have to pick up your thumb so it’s a bit faster. This version just seems exactly like the n64 but better frame rate and graphics. I’m very happy.

I fired it up but only lasted 30 seconds because omg the controls. It’s like one of those shitty games with purposely bad and opposite control schemes. Like I Am Bread.

It’s a shame about that fully finished and leaked XBLA version of Goldeneye. If only it could be easily accessed and played on PC using the Xenia emulator…

Oh wait, I’m already playing it

I thought the Xbox was supposed to be the canceled 360 remaster!? I have absolutely no interested in it anymore.

So I can play switch version with friends online?

Didn’t even know goldeneye was on switch: guess I’m getting online+

Has actually been really fun on Xbox. It’s on gamepass! Plays just like the original. Nice hit of nostalgia.

All versions are shit. Enjoy playing “online” 4 player split-screen with 16 frames of input delay.

  13. So fun playing this with the n64 controller stuck on the facility in 00 agent

“The graphics aren’t accurate enough, it needs to be lower and worse resolution”

“It’s barely playable because it isn’t 60 fps”

Digital Foundry makes great technical reviews of games like this, but their obsession with games that drop to 59 fps for a fraction of a second being bad is comical sometimes.

I see no practical reason for Nintendo to avoid controller QOL enhancements – unless their license fees are tied to utilization, of course.

This should be incredibly simple to implement and makes me regret upping my subscription to expansion pack, especially given how much of a comparative joy it is to play the xbox version.

I played on Xbox Series X. Yeah it’s not the release I wanted. Yeah I wish it was remastered. Yeah I wish it had online. But it was a lot of fun to replay. I’ve kind of thought about paying up to get it for Switch to relive the multiplayer using the online feature. But I’m not sure it’s worth the cost and tracking down people willing jump on for a game.

I kind of think Digital Foundry was being too harsh on this rerelease. Be happy we can play on two modern systems. I swear we can have a great thing and all people want to do is focus on some small negatives.
