I will always upvote developers updating their game after release. Respect.

  2. Does it include further censorship as well or will it still be the “ridiclious text censor and somewhat understandable visual censorship” edition?

Just updates within reason are a reason to be happy but with Squareenix i started to be scepticle whenever i hear any news lately.

  3. Dukemon102

Took them long enough. Maybe that means a lot of changes.

  4. Twinkiman

Nearly a year later and it is getting updated?

Nice that they will be attempting to fix the framerate issues. But the game should not have been released in that state to begin with. Especially since in many cases, the game ran worse then the PS1 original.

  5. Banished_Gaming

Are the secrets they’re referring to refer specifically to the extra secret ending that talks about magil from radical dreamers? Or is there more I wonder?

  6. Shame they can’t/won’t fix the vaseline smeared AI upscale attempt. Love the game, but man is it hard to look past the splotchy background art when trying to find what’s walkable/interactable and what’s not.

  7. AnalStewDelight

Now if only they would do the same for Tales of Symphonia

  8. Brazilianboylurks

Isn’t this version just a barebones PS1 emulator with a texture pack?

Thank fuck – this is one of my favorite games of all time so my dissapointment was immeasurable when I bought the absolute mess that was the PC version.

  10. detectiveriggsboson

Now give us the HD-2D remake of Chrono Trigger

  11. It took them a year to fix these issues!!?? No wonder people just emulate stuff.

I’m still waiting for them to fix Legend of Mana ,which for people who don’t have a second player on their switch, does not size the screen properly if you’re using the second account on your switch to play.

you literally can’t progress because the screen is shrunken sideways and cuts off the places you need to move to.

and yes, I reported the bug.

    they don’t care.

and my girlfriend can’t play on her own Switch Account, because hers is the second one on the system.

this gives me almost zero hope for Chrono cross getting fixed properly.

EDIT:half asleep, so put in wrong game. it was Legend of mana, not Saga Frontier – fixed it 🙂

  13. I’ll always cheer on the 1 in 10 shops that keeps at a project, even if it takes years. Alan Wake is playable now with a recent patch, which isn’t something I thought would happen.

  14. SpacemanJB88

They should have remastered all the cutscene cinematics at the same time. So stupid that they only remastered one of them.

  15. Iceykitsune2

I hate these kinds of tweets, it’s an accessibility nightmare.

  16. blackandwhitetalon

They’re updating it NOW? Lol. Too little too late

  17. EnclG4me

Once the update drops, if it improves the glaring issues at hand, I will most definitely pick this up. It was a great game back in a day and I wouldn’t mind paying it again.

  18. Melon_OfWater

Better late than never, I guess. But come on! I already finished the game in its shitty state 🙁

  19. SanguinolentSweven

Jesus. It took them a year to update this game. Very professional.

  20. Owned the original ntsc ps1. Copped the switch physical too, still sealed. Still got the preorder clock from 23 years ago too. think it’ll replay it in august, it’s a summer game.

  21. Drakeem1221

Remaster is probably already dead as far as further sales goes. I don’t think a re-release of an older game that’s somewhat niche will get the same second chance as an AAA.

  22. Sunlit_Neko

Thank goodness Squeenix hasn’t forgotten. Now, once that’s done, can we please get a modern Xenogears remaster (not remake), please?

  23. triforcelinkz

more support than pokemon scarlet and violet has

  24. Sega-Forever

I had lost hope of a patch. But this makes me so happy. It’s my favorite game on PS1

  25. AnthroBlues

1 year to fix something that modders patched a couple of months after release.

  26. Jomurphy27

This gives me hope for the Tales of Symphonia remaster.

  27. rondo_of_blood

kind of pathetic this wasn’t fixed on day one.

  28. MingYong

What secret though, did anyone find it yet

  29. Luminaireflare

“Have you discovered the secrets that original director Masato Kato added to this remaster?”

I wonder what he is referencing?

  30. Loutgraben

The update is out now and I immediately saw a HUGE difference in frame rate.
