Eh…. you could usually see it at $30 on sale.
I bet in the next one it’s going be $20.
Loved this game! Super fun and it looks great.
The demo is 40$?
I know this will be unpopular, many people like it but… this is the only game that made me feel like vomiting due to bad FPS in Alcala Valley. It doesnt run too well and the story/battle mechanics didnt live up to the expectations. I wouldn’t pay 40 bucks for it.
I don’t think I could take another 10 minutes of “Monsties”, much less however long it takes to finish the game…
Too much for that shitpile. Game runs at 15-40fps. How is that even possible
The original was kind of a mixed bag for me, and the demo didn’t quite sell me on the sequel.
Do you have a battle partner most of the time, or was teaming up with that village girl a one-time thing to help you get started?
Never played it myself, but one of my best friends is legitimately obsessed with this game.

See, I have this, (let’s call it) “issue” where whenever I see a new Switch game and it offers a physical version I impulsively and compulsively purchase it. So 9 times out of ten I’m unable to get these great deals. It’s a great game, don’t get me wrong, but it would’ve been so much better if it was $39.99 instead of the $57 I ended up paying after taxes and all that bs.
Still not worth it at that price. Honestly just a bad game. Boring story and characters, and the variety of monsters to catch is truly disappointing (and arguably the reason you would buy this game). As you go to new areas, you find that it’s just the same monsters with a different color.
I liked this game until about the fourth major zone with the actual hunter companion. It is repetitive, and predictable, but what finally put me off was the treatment of the MC.
You’ve slain huge baddies, tamed terrifying beasts, yet everyone talks to you like you are a complete novice and generally doesn’t take you seriously. Sort of killed the plot for me.
The actual monstie growth mechanics are also annoying. In comparison to Pokémon, you can take a pidgey or rattata all the way to the end game. They get stronger, evolve, and can stay relevant. Not in MHS. Early game monsties will forever be outmatched by later areas. In some cases that makes sense, but even the “tough” monsties of early areas aren’t viable long term.
I guess I’m still frustrated I didn’t finish this. I suddenly realized I wasn’t enjoying the game loop anymore.
