Pokemon Go announced their season 10: Rising Heroes. This coincides with the new season of GO Battle League. There are no move updates of consequence.
In yesterdays video, I go over the top ranked pokemon for fantasy cup: ultra league edition. This is a steel, fairy, and dragon meta. Steel should dominate this meta.
My first team is balanced tapu fini, giratina altered, and lucario. Lucario is the ultimate counter pokemon to ramp up to take out this steel dominated meta.

Always fun to see the spice people bring early season
First, Fantasy Cup was fun. Got a 5-0 twice on my first two sets of the new season. Second, I regret powering up my 14/15/15 Lucario to level 40 because it hit 2500 CP at level 35. Although, I had fun running other things than Luke and Registeel since I don’t have my PvP IV Registeel ready for UL.
IVs on Registeel are 3/15/12. I do wish it was 1/10/15.
I'm using a similar team in terms of typing but Giratina is the same and so far so good…
Have you got a Shadow A Ninetails? Would be keen to see it in action.

Been doing good with a very boring meta team, lanturn, gfisk, medicham
I use Escavilier with aerial ace instead of Lucario. My only issue with Lucario it's too fragile.
Melmetal with superpower is more effective than lucario in this meta.

13:04 What is wrong with people using the same team they used last season? Also, isn't shadow force better for Giratina instead of the sneak? According to PvP Gigartina has much better matchups with force compared to the sneak.
I'm kinda a couple months into the game and after some research, I got my first team for great league. I would like if you could tell me if it's good in the current meta. (Swampert, skarmory, scrafty). Also, thanks for the videos. I would watch a video about what I should spend my dust and candies on.
Agree with what you said at the end. I've ran in to a bunch Lanturn/Noctowl/GFisk teams already and I'm so over it even when getting a win against them, it's just so boring. I refuse to run any combination of those three on a team just now so I've been running Azu, Jirachi and Jumpluff which has at least been fun to use. Ready to have a break for a season I think.
I've noticed that despite no Meta shift for Great League, people are actually trying out different teams. Some of them bizarre AF, but effective if their Pokemon happen to counter yours.
So GL is still the Wild Wild West in a sense, but I've done well enough on Day 1 that I'm definitely sticking to it over some UL cup, although it looks like it might be okay.
I'm running Granbull, genesect (ice), and Metagross. They are ones that were near enough to 2500 and Granbull already has two moves. No idea if it's a good team this early. But I'm enjoying not spending dust.
I think Niantic should have a Great league, banning Mons from rank 1 to 25. Let the Yanmega flourish
The front 2 core is super strong and Lucario is a great closer

I lead with Lucario / Giratina / Excadrill —— went 18-2… I know it was the first day but only had one true gimme match

I look forward to the "what to build" video! The kids and I have only been playing hard since last summer, so its an economics decision for all of us. They love battling, but get real upset when they can't win and don't have enough good pokemon to experiment with.
Trainers are starting early to reach legend so they bring their top team i.e. G. Stunfisk. LOL The first twenty ranks are usually for enjoyment and fun but some are so serious that they battle with none other than top tier pkmn. LOL
My team is actually similar and opening day I went 8-2. I'm running the same team only lead lucario, but with power up punch and aurora. Safe swap is a giratina but only one move on it so i went with dragon Claw. And my closer is my 99.7% Metagros CP 2499 which anytime I can use it in UL I do. Running MM and Psychic.
I love your team builder series. It helped me so much starting my GBL Journey. Great idea for this season.
I don't care so much about "interesting" GL content, I mostly just want to make it to legend for the first time ever. So my suggestion is to do super meta builds and give us tips on how to get better at playing the meta
Should try my team it's like a cheat code. Tapu lead with gira and diaolga in the back. Safe swap diolga to draw out fairy's and grab a shield advantage with iron head

I just used my open ul team and it was doing pretty good. I was running tapu Fini, giratina-a and registeel but I got shadow force on giratina. I've been seeing a lot of charmers though so I might try a double steel line with giratina. I'm not sure if u should keep shadow force though but it seems to land over half the time and I don't like getting rid of the "legacy" moves if I don't have to.
