    >Microsoft also says Activision has a “long history of optimizing game performance for available hardware capabilities,” and it’s “confident” that techniques that have made graphically intensive games like Apex Legends, Doom Eternal, and Fortnite work on Switch could be used for Call of Duty.

All of those games run at 60FPS on all other consoles (or at least 45+ on weaker consoles).

There’s a reason mainline CoD games have run at 60FPS on all platforms for over a decade.

To get a new big CoD on Switch, it would have to run at 30FPS, which basically makes it a new game from other platforms.

There’s a reason Super Smash Bros has run at 60FPS since 1999. It would be objectively horrible at 30.

It’s obviously possible for it to run on Switch. It’s possible for Cyberpunk to run on Switch. It just depends how low they’re willing to go with performance.

Go check out some reviews of the performance of even the old Warzone on Xbox One. It ran soooo bad. The Switch is even less powerful than an Xbox One.

Any version on the current Switch would just be to fulfill the contractual obligation and maybe hope to sell copies quickly before the bad reviews are widespread.

The new Doom games and Wolfenstein 2 on switch are great. I don’t really have an interest in COD games myself but if they are going to be using similar techniques that were done in these ports, I don’t see why they couldn’t make a great, playable COD on switch.

If Activision was able to make Modern Warfare 3 run on a Wii, then they can make Warzone run on the Switch

Honestly, I hope it looks more like the Wii versions than the Black Ops 3 X360/PS3 port, where just like bad Switch ports, either looks like everything is covered in vaseline or the low resolution pixelation is fuzzy.

For Call of Duty to run on Switch they would need to actually optimise their game (which is something they haven’t done in years) and it would have to be a cloud game and that’s even if it’s possible at all!

    >“buy-to-play” titles like Modern Warfare II

I hate how f2p cashgrabs have become the norm to the point that regular fully paid games need to be labelled this way

Xbox & Nintendo should kiss already.

I’d probably get downvoted for this but I would just be happy even with CODM, it has all the OG maps from us cod4 vets and decent out of the box controller support with DS4. I still play it easily but if it was on the switch on my OLED screen that would be epic.

You’ll need an entire SD card for any Switch COD game no thanks

I personally see WZ being highly overrated. It sucks that that’s where Xbox’s head is. I’d much rather Switch get ports or remasters of old games along with new games made for it.

The first 2 Black Ops games would be great on Switch, with a local wireless zombies feature.

No way can they reasonably get it done. I just don’t believe anything they say about it. It’s just so obviously lip service.

Look at Apex. Sure they got it running but it’s unplayable in cross play due to the performance and on top of that, Apex is far more optimized a game and far less ambitious. Less players, smaller map, less photo realistic textures, vehicles, etc. Warzone ran poorly on OG Xbox One and the Switch is far less powerful than that. Anything less than 60FPS in COD is unacceptable.

If you want to play COD, no matter what they say about this 10 year deal, you still need an Xbox.

  13. That would be a huge undertaking and it arriving this late in the console’s lifecycle is a little too far fetched. The minimum time to coordinate and release such an ambitious project on the current form factor would be a complete waste of time. I’m confident though at this point that MS has internal confirmation that new hardware is on the horizon. And this statement is just to cover that fact without their true intentions ahead of Nintendo’s future plans of its announcement timing.

Just release Black Ops Zombies standalone on the Switch. That’s everything we need.

We already have Splatoon for our PvP needs.

  15. Healingvizion

Man I would love it if they started with the OG world war 2 games and worked their way up to the modern warfare series and so on.

  16. i would be totally fine with a black ops 2 port

  17. Odd-Conversation1208

Just port Zombie Chronicles and that will fill my CoD needs

Can’t wait to compare ultra low potato mode settings between my Switch and PC

I would assume it would be a cloud version or completely toned down graphics wise,. I mean they did get the witcher 3 running pretty well on the switch,. It all depends on the devs,.

just because they could doesn’t mean they should i think the switch isn’t powerful enough maybe the next gen will be able to handle it
