Just a small notice before anyone asks. This is not a great jumping point into the series. It’s a culmination of all the plots and character arcs of all the Trails games before it. This is essentially the “Avengers” of the franchise that has been over 15 years in the making.

So i got the Tales from zero and gona get Trails to Azure, and i did because i just fall in love with the looks and combat system, but i dont know, this one is just dont give me the same hype as the others is there a “major” bad move of me not to get this one ?

Is the trails of Azure gona finish with a continue or each one as is own story and im ok on skiping this one ?

Maybe im overreaction but this game feels so diferent from the firsts ones, same reason i also did not get the cold stell ones

I really, really need to get back and finish CS4.

I hope all the series will be ported on switch. It’s my only option and I really want to experience this série in the good order

  6. I just jumped right in with Trails of Cold Steel III on Switch and never looked back. Read the story summary in the menu, spent about 40 min familiarizing myself with characters and plot, and I’ve enjoyed it ever since.

Loved it so much I went back and started playing the first game. But I never played the Sky Trilogy and likely never will. Just too old and dated, and not being on Switch means I can’t convince myself to put in the effort.

At some point, you realize it’s not realistic to go back and play a dozen games to get “caught up”. And you just pick a game and jump in. Cold Steel 3 worked for me, especially with its story summary, and knowing you can always go back and play earlier games afterward if you want.

Cold Steel 3 > Cold Steel 4 > Trails From Zero > Trails To Azure > Trails Into Reverie

All on Switch OLED where I’ll actually play them, since having them as console games, handheld games and tabletop games makes it so much easier.
