I’m cautiously excited to see how well SB will run on Switch considering it ran terribly on all platforms and even beefy PCs when it initially launched. The gameplay footage looks pretty good, and Steel Wool has been fixing some of the problems on the other versions. So this will either be an absolute trainwreck or the Switch version of SB just might be the smoothest version of the game.

~~Also fun fact: the voice actor for Glamrock Freddy (Kellen Goff) voices Lahmu in SMT V.~~

A good chunk of this video are the *cutscenes*, keep in mind, which are the entire Chica eating scene and the driving and chucking a car at Roxy scene. That doesn’t help much in determining how well it’ll run.

But regardless, I do not recommend this game to anybody. If you were once a FNAF fan and curious about the newest entry and tempted for that reason, this game essentially lacks all of what made the original games so popular.

This port could possibly be decent thanks to bug fixes after launch, but as the other comments mentioned, it was an incredibly buggy and poor launch and this could still be a disaster to run. You could jump and as a result unload the entire game and glitch through everything. It was that bad.

The gameplay is also the most cookie-cutter horror and no, it’s not scary at all. You run around a way too big mall with little ways to speed up movement and stamina for running, and there are nonlethal enemies who are everywhere that, on encountering you, literally teleport the lethal enemies closer to you to get you. That is how this giant open map game handles the size; teleporting the enemy in your face. Oh, and good luck getting the final ending. When trying to get the ending, the game locks you to only having one place to save your game in a giant open map that takes tons of time to traverse. There is no autosave, you will likely lose tons of progress if you aren’t careful or slip up. This isn’t a spoiler, because this has no plot reason why, it’s just done to make it harder.

And then even ignoring the possible bugs and glitches and performance problems and the gameplay itself, the game has some of the most little but yet contradictory and worst plots in any of the games, and does some things that even actively ruin previous games. I mean that when I say it ruins past titles, >!they throw out the entire ending of FNAF6/Pizza Simulator by literally having the Pizzaplex be built on top of the Pizza Sim location and then also having Afton be alive and back for the nine hundreth time, on top of having Molten Freddy be back but even bigger and with Baby’s mask on its back? So basically, the entire ending of Pizza Sim just killed Mike and Henry for nothing!<. It’s also painfully clear in the nonsensical plot that the game was very unfinished and had a lot of changes made to the story since it goes all over while also not clearing up a lot of the questions it brings up and datamines also indicate that there was definitely a lot cut, and the easiest way to tell of all this? The trailers have content and voice lines referring to events that don’t happen. It’s a mess.

My interest in the franchise was slowly destroyed by the controversy after controversy leading up to this game releasing, but this was the nail in the coffin. There’s nothing I can say to defend this game or series, and this franchise was something I loved for many, many years and followed so much in my youth. Just watch Markiplier or your favorite channel play this if you want to experience it, the game is insanely boring to watch without commentary and more miserable to play so you might as well watch with somebody narrating.

It looks pretty rough, a lot like the original release of ARK. As long as it’s locked at 30 FPS, it will be interesting.

This game was a yikes story and gameplay-wise, but it’s got a very pretty map and design. I wouldn’t recommend playing but I’d buy merch. I wish they’d keep the assets and redo everything else.
