Had a lot of fun with this one with some buddies on PC. If the port is solid, this is a definite recommend for me.

I bought the game and I’m going to try to hop on this weekend

So I played about four hours last night. Technically great port; no crashes, horrible slowdown or glitches. Whether you’d like the game is another thing. It is a lower budget game so expect some rough edges. The story is completely forgettable. I only play solo but there’s PVP and Co-Op, or you can just choose offline and not worry about any of it. The game takes A LOT from Dark Souls, like having a fog gate before a boss. The world is a bit weird in that it’s a bunch of closed areas that are connected. However, it is procedurally generated apparently so it’ll change from okay through to play through.
Classes are irrelevant like Dark Souls; you can get everything on one character. It just effects your starting gear, but even then it’s only the weapon mod as you can instantly buy the other starting weapons after the tutorial. However, unlike DS there’s no parry (at least not initially, there may be some later trait that allows it, I’m not sure), you’ll be roll dodging to survive. A lot.
There is a second DLC campaign that takes place after the main story. And a second included DLC that adds some costumes and weapons. Speaking of, you have equitable armor and items, but you ALSO have essentially transmog items as well. So regardless of what you have equipped, you can look however you like assuming you’ve found the skin.
Is it hard? Yes… And no. Depends. And it seemingly depends on your gear level as well. The status effects can absolutely wreck you I’ve found. From what I can see some build choices can make the beginning a nightmare but will wreck end game. Some are the reverse. I haven’t found anyway to respec, so not sure about that. Quick note, customization is almost non-existent. Boy or girl, seven heads, seven haircuts, handful of preset colours.
I will add the stamina system and sprinting feel weird for me. The health and stamina bar being in the bottom right makes me completely forget it’s even a thing in the thick of battle rolling and using mods and trying to reload and keep mindful of how much ammo I have. The tiny gray stamina bar doesn’t help this either. So movement feels kinda clunky because you’ll stop running and just feels really janky— a few hours in it’s less of an issue because you can kind’ve anticipate it. But if you get swarmed and, say, hit with bleeding you’re a bit screwed. The “estus flasks” of this game (called the dragon heart) takes a long time to use and the animation is so tedious, as well getting hit or rolling during it cancels it so it’s kind’ve really annoying. Snipers be weary.
That said, for the price, I feel like it’s a good pick up. I’m not sure how much lasting appeal it’ll have for me, but despite its flaws it’s an interesting experience that, when it works, is exciting and makes you feel like John Wick.

Is it local coop?

It’s this game?! I’ve seen lots of people stream it, never thought it’d come to Switch. Looks like I found my Friday stream.

Had a blast playing this with a friend co-op online on the ps4. But when we got to the final boss we both just decided to stop playing. We spent a whole hour trying to kill it only to get it to lose like 10% health. We just decided nah, this game doesn’t respect our time anymore.
Don’t get me wrong the game play building up to the final boss was fun, we really enjoyed it and even though this game will never win any awards it was a good time shared with a friend. It was just the final boss that made us decided we done now. My friend said he finished it with 3 other randoms and that it did take a long time with them too. Not sure if this was ever patched or anything but yeah good time. Horrible last boss

Played through this when it was on PS+ a couple of years ago. It’s a lot of fun and an interesting take on a ‘souls like’ game. Definitely worth checking out if that’s your thing.

One of my favourite games, bought it when it came out on PC. Amazing they ported this to switch.
I would buy this in a heartbeat, but I am a keyboard/mouse enthusiast. I can’t aim for a crap with the controller. Are there gyro controls? I might give it a try.

One thing that imight be important for some people the game has no gyro control

Enjoy the game Nintenbros! Played this when it launched on PS4 and it was honestly one of my favorite games of that year.. I’m so excited for the sequel coming out!
If you guys are interested in Remnant, be sure to check out [Chronos](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=goxaz8DybU8) (Link leads to short review) because it’s a direct predecessor that leads into the game.

Amazing game. Amazing combat and just overall gameplay loop. If you have friends it’s even better. It’s basically a 3rd person shooter with slight souls aspects to it. The bosses are all really fun with some having interesting mechanics. The loot system is also really cool. Each world has a set number of encounters you can get that are all kinda random: these encounters have specific loot you can acquire from them. Basically you can play it as a one and done campaign but it’s really meant to be a game you play multiple times to unlock and see all the encounters.

Played this on my beefy PC last year. Already prefer the switch port.
Just needs gyro support!

Great game, it’s basically what most people would consider to be “Dark Souls with guns”.
If that concept is of interest to you— the game’s surprisingly above-average (and I’d go as far as to say “pretty good”) in almost everything that it offers; the story being one of the few things that you either like or find completely meaningless.

My only complaint is the sprinting. Feels like your running through quicksand.
Oh and it needs gyro

Deleted already. The first boss gorefist is just impossible. Spent 4 hours last night no luck. Watch Videos, got tips impossible. Just ruins the game. I don’t mind a hard game, but not frustrating to this level

Wish I could play shooters on console because I love this game – would love to replay it ahead of the sequel launch – but for as long as I’ve been playing games on console I still can’t aim on console.

I am very impressed with this, looks great on the OLED.
