Honestly I’d prefer it if all Nintendo cinematic projects were their own thing. I want these movies to be able to express themselves in the style that best suits them, and I feel like tying them together restricts that
smashboi888
No, we don’t “need” one, but it would be very cool. It could be fantastic and it could indeed work, but it needs to be handled very carefully.
Not sure if I trust Illumination to tackle all of Nintendo’s franchises though. They did Mario good, but I’d be hesitant to let them touch the more-serious ones like Zelda, Metroid, and Fire Emblem.
That said, even if we don’t get a full “NCU”, I at least want a cinematic universe purely in the Mario world.

Is Smash Bros: Ultimate our Avengers: Endgame? Because I could be down for that ride.
kpeds45
Dear God no. Why do we “need” a bunch of movies connected like homework? It’s not like you play Mario and have to know that happened in the last Zelda game. This is a dumb idea
HolidayHowlett
How about they make a good movie for the respective franchises first and then worry about making a connected universe?
WilliShaker
I could watch thousands of Mario adventures as long as it’s not big release and weird like avengers

15 years of Marvel movies have legitimately given people brain worms. I can’t think of a single “planned” shared universe other than Marvel that hasn’t been a trainwreck from day 1. Everybody wants to jump right to the “big crossover” part and forgets you need to actually make good movies that lead up to that. Otherwise you get nonsense like the “dark universe”.
Make a couple Mario movies, a DK movie, maybe a Zelda movie, and so on, and make sure they all work as standalone pieces of entertainment and not just stepping stones for other movies. If you can pull that off, then *maybe* a Smash Bros movie is worth considering as a culmination of that.

Absolutely not. the MCU is one of the worst things created by Marvel (in my humble opinion), a project that limits the creative production of most movies. Imagine having to limit the potential of a Metroid movie because the villain must necessarily be Ganondorf travelling in space to get the seven stars! Unful!
Emptyking101
Make it a universe who only interacts with racing/fighting and golfing events
MyArtStuff
No. If they’re going to make movies, focus on good stories and mood.

A sub space smash bro’s eventually after all major Nintendo ip’s have relevant movies would be fun but difficult to execute right
WEEGEMAN
No thanks.
I for one do not want a fire emblem cinematic universe.
Digibutter64
No. Not everything has to be a connected cinematic universe.
Frazzle64
No, a new sub space emissary adventure mode in the next smash though? Now we’re talking!
Sonicyellow49
No, not everything needs a cinematic universe. Zelda and Metroid; I prefer if they were animated series rather than movies. Kirby can go either or(just not live-action). Fire emblem’s small problem is their avatar protagonist, in the end no one will be satisfied.

Do we NEED it? Yes. Do we WANT it? Also, yes!

A Super Smash Bros Movie could be amazing!

No, it would have to be a multiverse, because time wouldn’t allow for mario to meet inklings kirby and definitely not samus.
Link could work becaus the mushroom kingdom is very non linear in its economical development. But no a single universe wouldn’t hold all of them
