Good?

“moving away” is a bit too strong here. He basically just said future mainline Mario games wont be focussed on smartphones
“Mobile apps will not be the primary path of future Mario games.”
TEXlS
I didn’t know they were.

Most of the new Mario Party and Mario Sports games have barely more than mobile content. Why sell it for less than 20 when you can sell it for 60.

Perfect
Don’t waste resources on mobile, use it instead to provide me with Xenoblade games until I die
FrozenFrac
…………they were barely mobile games to begin with

That’s great, even mariokart wii has better gameplay than tour

This is a really terribly written article. The interviewer seems to have been asking dumb questions, and is now presenting Miyamoto’s responses with no context, as if they were significant statements he volunteered spontaneously. It wasn’t even an interview about those subjects, it was about the Mario movie.

The one mobile Mario game?

Different markets. One is for Neanderthals and the other is for people who need to play mainline Zelda games.

Didn’t they make a mint on the mobile Animal Crossing game?
Edit: they made at least 250 million on AC(stats from 2021)… They made a billion on Fire Emblem mobile 🤯🤯🤯

Super Mario Run is actually really good.

I mean, there were two unless you count Dr. Mario. It’s not like they had heavily invested in it.

And that’s a good thing

Good.

I was still hoping for Mario Maker on iPad!!! What a great experience building Mario levels would be with a stylus!

This article is garbage.

Good. I’d sooner read the back of a shampoo bottle while taking a dump like it’s 1995 than play a “game” on my phone.
Volkhobot
It was about time

Is he moving TOWARDS a new Switch title anytime soon?

Mario never really moved towards mobile game. They released one Mario mobile game just to test the water.

Gods, I hate poorly-written articles by people who know nothing about what they’re actually writing.

I think the bigger takeaway from that interview is
“When asked when fans can expect the next mainline Mario game, Miyamoto began chuckling before his translator could even relay the question, teasing, “All I can say is please stay tuned for future Nintendo Directs.””
Coold000
“We can’t compete on the mobile Market anymore. Damn you, Steam Deck!”
Wubbzy-mon
So they revealed the mastermind behind Mario? I never knew Shigeru Miyamoto made Mario.
