Looks like they just borrowed what animal crossing did. You like paint or change the style of net/fishing rod and reset its durability.

First off, I love durability. But this doesn’t really address the problem people had. Now when your weapon is about to break, you can turn it into another weapon basically. But you could already just throw or break that weapon and pick one of many up off the ground. It’s really not much different.
I think people that didn’t like durability just wanted to stick to a weapon they like and not have to switch, but that’s still not the case here. You can fuse something to your favorite weapon to save it, but it’s likely going to make it dumb looking. lol
Instead, what would actually make durability feel less overbearing is if mid tier and up weapons just have a bit more durability than previously.
Or, maybe certain materials can be fused to a weapon that don’t change it’s form, but give it special properties and or make it more durable.

So ~~controversial~~ divisive it has sold nearly 30 million copies and is the best selling entry in the series.

Just make it so that there are extremely rare resources that can give permanent durability or very high durability.

feels like the people who hate breakable weapons haven’t given a single thought to how dramatically and for the worse that would change botw
your strength is tied to your weapons and their management. it’s a big reason to explore the world and has you playing more strategically and with greater care towards their preservation
i hear the same complaints against the fatigue meter. nonsense positions

You can create makeshift weapons now. They also break.
That’s it. That’s the article.

I just would’ve been happy if the MASTER SWORD of all things had unlimited durability.
I think it would’ve been fair. It didn’t have any of the elemental properties other weapons had, or the reach or knock back some of the bigger weapons had.

I just want to collect all the weapons and use them whenever i want and not worry about the weapon breaking. Like the big goron sword even if it broke, you could still get it fixed

If it still exists then no, then didn’t fix it.

i will just wait for a mod in order to make stuff unbreakable. i did the same in botw and i consequential enjoyed the game

Honestly after a couple hours I both got used to the durability factor, and managed to get good enough weapons that it didn’t matter.

urg, breaking weapons were the major turn down for me in botw (and even killed the game foe me). just let me repair my fav weapon and i’d be happy.

I honestly don’t understand how/why people defend weapon durability in BotW, it is the only reason I haven’t finished the game, which is otherwise amazing.
I have no problem with weapon durability in games, many of my favorite games have it, but botw’s system is hands down the worst implementation I have ever seen. No way to repair weapons, weapons only last a fight (or less), and you are constantly engaging menus to juggle weapons.
TotK looks like more of the same, which for someone like me, means I will likely avoid this game. It’s such a bummer, as I have never seen a core system spoil an otherwise perfect game.
If you are someone who likes the system, great; but it is a deal breaker for me, and many others.
