I would much prefer that Wario is done by Charles Martinet. Let him voice at least *one* of his characters, especially with his cameos proving (to those who doubted him) that he can do a toned down version of his characters. Waluigi can be a celebrity, I don’t care, but let Martinet voice Wario!
Pedro Pascal is such an awful pick for Wario too, he’s too smooth and chill for Wario, Wario needs to be gruff and bombastic. Pascal would be a much better fit for a character like Geno, imo. I’m pretty sure Jack just randomly namedropped someone he likes, and given he was just on The Mandalorian, it makes sense that Pascal would be the first person he thinks of.

It’s a real shame that voice work for big movies has gone to Hollywood stars instead of to people who’s entire careers are voice acting. It’s like they took one look at opening up the industry to outside talent and laughed.
I haven’t seen the movie yet, I’m sure they all did a good job, and Pedro Pascal surely could as well. But the more people push for roles to be given to celebrities, the more opportunities are taken from people to advance their careers.

I feel like I’m the only one that wants unknown voice actors to get a shot. While none of the voice acting in the movie was *bad*, I also didn’t find it to be work that someone without star power couldn’t accomplish.
Having said that, I do love Pedro Pascal probably more then any other VA’s for the film.

Everything else will be animated, Pedro will be the sole element that is not CG.
And it will never be addressed or explained.
