I understand what they're trying to do with this change, and I support the idea of getting people back outside, but I don't live near any gyms (The closest is a 15 minute drive), and when I do go to the gyms, nobody else shows up, so I have no choice but to raid remotely…
The way I see it, sure remote raiding puts money in their pockets and makes them millions, but the location data makes them billions. If we grind the xl candy too fast, less people will be interested in the game long term and they get less location data.
We should go on strike, buying no poke coins.
In my opinion, this nerf gives an unfair advantage to players who have the time of day, and the local populated community over us player who don't have the time of day (because of work and other obligations), and don't have a local populated community to speak of. Also I think we deserve more of an explanation of this "data," that keeps being mentioned; like how much data did they go through to come to this conclusion, how diversified was this collected data, etc. I'm personally fine with the price increase; I don't like it, I don't agree with it, but I accept it. As for the cap on remote raids, they've systematically removed a third of the game. Now before someone jumps on my argument by being like "why are you playing pokemon go when you should be working?" you're obviously one of those people that fit into the first category, you've just proven my argument, and you can shut up. What I do in my free time during break, lunch, or just a uneventful work day is my business and not yours.

Yes, Remote Raids killed active communities. Wo speaks pretty logically. Of course many of people who just want to sitting on the sofa and raiding never understand that.

Okay so I feel we should have wonder trading and a joystick switch where it’s like spoofing except the chances for rare and shiny encounters are slim if used and people who walk get exclusive items and Pokémon making it fair on all sides most people who play are kids who can’t go far for a raid or to even just go out and grind the game is going to die at this rate

why not just have no xl candies after 5 remote raids in a day but the actual raid limit is unlimited but the rewards for candies are less than irl?? I'm really not sure how their solution is incentivizing people to do irl raids??? it actually makes me not want to do ANY raids at all. It makes me want to do LESS raiding in fact. It's weird they want you to meet strangers irl through campfire and are encouraging it?? I just have common sense it may not be safe to meet irl with strangers so sorry my safety is more important than the game.
Its very obnoxious to tell people to go outside when the company, giving players the PvP battling they 'wanted' (GBL), puts that as the main focus of the game- a mini-game where you sit on your couch tapping the screen. Do the math, if it takes about 15 minutes per set how much time can you spend a day playing GBL in addition to grinding/in-person raids? I get that the initial version was more of a beta test for AR than a true game but it has evolved to so much more (like no one uses the AR features!) and needs a complete overhaul. I would pay for a 'season pass' if they just made the game a story-focused geotagging adventure with the focus on relationships with your pokemon, (this would reduce the need to rely on pokestops so rural players can play too).
If this is their answer then this games goint to tank HARD in the next months.

I not living in a big town with alot of gyms and my friends left me out and ditched me so i not have anyone locals anymore plus i got an injury 1 year before pandemic arrived and remote helped me alot when i Cannot walk muxh anymore and with getting friends to help with invites but now when got expensive and limit 5 remotes a day this will make hard for me for i now also have a little social anxiety so meeting people i have been afraid to do after people ditched me so i not feel trust around people so if they not change this. This game getting more close to end for me
Every single person I used to play with has no interest in the game anymore and I don't think I wil be playing very much longer either I hope they loose so much income that this game either gets better or no one will play it whatsoever
im probably one of those that isnt affected by the cap on a daily basis, seen as i usually only do more raids when im looking for a specific shiny. so assuming they will increase the cap for certain events like they advertised i might not even feel the change ( if they do it properly). however doubling the price has hit absolutely everyone, so i dont understand why Niantic are targetting everyone when in this interview Wu clearly states the problems (as they see it) come from the peope remote raiding excessively – which is far from being everyone that plays the game.
why harm the majority of useres who remote raid less than 5x per day when the daily cap would already limit the hardcore remote raiders?
I think it is a joke I don't have alot of gyms around me so u can't raid only remotely so yeah I am not playing the game very much thank niantic
The regieleke was bad for me.. only one gym had it on my area.. though it would available. 3 times 11am 2pm and 5pm 3 times chance to catch it..being with my schedule and daily things to do .. I was there at that gym by luck thinking I can catch it at 11am
But no only for 2pm .. that time I would be at work .. 🙁

Oh so they're basically admitting fully that they intended ML to be a completely elitist and pay to play thing? I mean they got rid of the ML that doesn't allow legendaries. And then they're making it impossible for rural players to even build ML mons… so…? Kinda feels that way. You literally have to live in a big active city to build ML mons now. And if the reason they nerfed remote passes was because we were building ML mons too fast. Then that's exactly what's going on and there isn't any way around it. Niantic just needs to admit they hate rural and poor players. It's an elitist game for urban rich people.
if they wanted to balance things out they would give more potions from pokestops, since pokemon team rocket events I am barely getting those, and my teams are constantly fainted because i dont do raids anymore

We all knew this was coming when they implemented it at covid. Honestly where was everyone pre covid that complaining? How did y'all play prior to? Does it suck, yeah the free ride is over but let's be real, it's necessary to delete the legendary imbalance and to get game back to it's roots. There are several console games that are also interchangeable with Pokemon home and go. Honestly how much more y'all need. I do however think Niantic should meet some ppl halfway and do what someone suggested here and make legendary soloable on a scale with less reward than in person. Like more candy or only xl if in person with a raid group vs solo. Delete remote raids altogether.
In fairness though my wife, 2 kids also play. So we can almost 4man a 5stsr raid but still have to get help to get legendary raids. When that the case we hit up local discord and coordinate or I call some work buddies and do it. That takes planning and also means you not gonna get it instant. We grind it on one day. Before we all played together I just did without some of end game content.

I think niantic is doing this because they want players to do the scan tasks. They can sell that data for way more than they make selling remote passes.
My biggest problem with this is me and my missus play the game together and rely on people joining our raids remotely to take down legendary raids

Just Fucc it xD… dont buy remote raids anymore and good. Or maybe just dont buy poke coins also anymore. They need to feel it, that the community doesnt like what they do with us.

Raise the price or limit the number, not both. I've basically stopped doing raids because nobody goes to the ones around me except at the park, which has a very small limit.
It takes me about a week to burn through 3 remote raid passes, i only remote raid cos live rural… welcome to my world of very slow grind to XL candy for legendaries. The price hike is insane and i am contemplating if i will spend money on passes that are now not really worth the price… but i welcome that now things like Master League could be influenced by limiting the number of remote raids really intense players can participate in… it will bring some balance, cos not everyone uses the first few days of a meta-legendary pokemon raid boss to get a) 100% IV + b) enough XL candy to max to LVL50.
