This is just not acceptable to me and it shouldn’t be to them.
Their game might look as good as it does in 1080p,
but the YouTube compression just doesn’t serve it justice.
Other developers that support 4K gameplay already have 4K trailers, naturally,
and I think Nintendo should do it to, regardless of the switch’s resolution.

I disagree. If they make a 4k trailer of a game that isn’t 4k, it might look better than the actual game and that would be disappointing. If you are aware of the compression rate, why worry? You know the game will look better than the YT trailer.
I use this one simple trick to fix all my Switch game visuals (it works on any system):

Fun fact it might still be the case but Nintendo used to require ads that used gameplay to be running on actual hardware.
The trailer should be available at a rate that’s on par and comparable to what’s gonna be available- thus far the game looks like ass on YouTube so I understand where you’re coming from HOWEVER.. Nintendo should never release a 4K trailer or footage if there’s no actual 4K output of the game that would be completely dishonest

You chose a single frame of a second that has 30 frames. You also deliberately chose a frame of a high speed movement (Link in mid spin attack animation).

As long as people buy a low end console with expensive games, regularly, there is no need to improve ans it shows
I don’t see any reason they *need* to. Their demographics don’t care, and it’s not really an issue. It’s pointless effort wasted to appease a severe minority of people.
