Needs those backups in case the first one dies

My cousins had this game. I remember we would go over there and play California games, Mario 1-3, punch out, donkey Kong classics, and some games we didn’t have. And they had Dragon Warrior and they wouldn’t let us play it because it was a game they only played together as a family.
I just realized I’ve never played it or even seen gameplay or even a screenshot. This game continues to be a mystery to me.

Why though

While this is impressive, I gotta say this looks like compulsive behavior/hoarding. I hope you are taking care of yourself OP.

Good thing you spent all that money for internet points.

This is a fairly cheap game compared to some similar titles, like Zelda.
I don’t remember the details, but it was given away at some point. Tons of people had it who wouldn’t have bought it otherwise.

Now destroy them like RLM did with their Nukie VHSs.

Can’t have speed running competition if no one has copies to run.

I guess I can’t do that either

Sell me some copies of 2-4 if you get some extras. I’d love a reason to be able to legally have the ROMs.

I love this game. This and the first Zelda are the two biggest contributors to my video game nostalgia. So no, I will not surrender my copy so that you may have 2,500.

It was somewhat of a running thing on Nintendo Age forums years ago like around 2012-2013 when user Kevbot started collecting hundreds of Jurassic Park VHS and another member was collecting SMB/DH. I started the DW collection as the unofficial third person to start the trend. Got up to around 400 before I got out of it and sold them in bulk to another member to continue the mission. Just did it for fun, was only $5 each free shipping at the time, and I love the game, no other reason. Nintendo Age has since been bought out and stripped of everything good. Some users created a new forum at videogamesage to continue on what Nintendo Age used to be.

Why hoard them though? If he likes the game so much, why not let some other people use those copies to play rather than letting them gather dust?

At what point does collecting become hoarding?

This is the Dragon Warrior equivalent of people giving Everything is Terrible! their VHS copies of Jerry Maguire. Maybe they’re gonna build a pyramid out of all of them?
