It’s amazing that Metroid Prime is not only the best looking GC game but Switch too, after being remastered.

This remaster is the best retort to everyone who blames hardware for crappy performance. Most games just don’t get enough time or effort to run as well as they could, by a long shot. They’ll sacrifice graphical quality just to get them in passable condition, and that’s it.
And the sad thing is that every time more powerful hardware becomes the norm, game optimization just gets that much lazier.

Best looking maybe but I was surprised to come to the conclusion on how bad the combat is in the game upon playing the remaster. I know it is a 20 year old game and the industry has evolved alot but I found it so annoying I avoided combat as much as possible and just ran through rooms taking damage. I hope with prime four they add in some variety to the combat with melee attacks, movement abilities, maybe using the grapple hook as a weopan. I’m thinking taking inspiration from perhaps the best designed fps from a gameplay perspective in doom eternal. The game just did not hold up for me unlike a game like the original doom which is still fun as hell to play to this day.
