  1. what you are talking about is churn. every game has it where a player quits and another player takes his place. for a game that's been around as long as POGO and still boast 70M+ unique players, it's very remarkable. like any business, Niantic needs to answer to the owners/investors and needs to grow profitability/top line. naturally, developing new games (to capture players they churn from POGO) is a normal move for a game developer. i'll say this much: the hardcore player at lvl 50 to Niantic is no more valuable than a new player who starts and grinds to lvl 40 and quits.

  2. The game has been almost unplayable for me for the last few days… Took 30 mom's to login this morning for my daily spin and catch

  3. I've been staying away from raids ever since their new implementation and the newly released shinies from raids regardless of forms. Like Plankton from Spongebob said, 'It's not worth it! It's just not worth it!'

  4. I am curious about their current revenue on just raid passes since the update. I havnt done or bought a single remote raid pass since. They aint taking my hard earned money anymore.

  5. The game and its communities are going to have to re-form around in-person raiding. That's really all there is to it. That's where Niantic thinks the future of this game is, and I agree with them.

  6. I used to be SO ADDICTED to Pokemon Go I rarely closed the game. But then it just seemed like there were constant events and I really needed to live a real life. I went from having to raid every day to only raiding on Wednesdays. I went from spending many hours during community day to some of them just opening the game for a half hour. I also sometimes don't play at all and I lose my streak. It's all great! It's just a game and I need to treat it like it is just a game. Don't forget to spend quality time with family and friends outside the game!

  7. Pokemon Go was the perfect storm; it was simplistic in all its forms before Go, whilst at the same time the player base were exposed for a long time but young enough to to still be kids and adolescents who would age with the IP. Niantic's game is, by the standards of games in general, complete crap, but the pokemon enthusiasts accept it because it's not too far off what they grew up with. For other IPs, Niantics amateurish implementations are lose lose and don't come close enough to meeting player expectations for a modern game to have a hope. They're wither not bright enough to realize this, or more likely, they need tax write offs.

  8. They have tarnished their brand. Who in their right mind is going to invest time and money in any of their new games. They clearly don’t listen to their player base, a game could get shut down or needed like Pogo. Crazy!!

  9. I deleted the app. I can not play a location tracking app that was gameified with pokemon. Ran by a company that's literally like "big brother" trying to control me going outside by making their game WORSE. Absolutely not niantic can suck it. Most people are asleep sheep.
