Mild spoiler warning for Tears of the Kingdom for those that haven’t watched any trailers/gameplay previews and want to go in completely blind.
Very fun article recapping the history of Zelda and the things that make it unique. I enjoyed the fact that they interviewed Zeltik, as well as the developers of Chicory and Tunic. I also didn’t know the story about how Majora’s Mask was inspired by a North Korean missile crisis.

It’s a pet peeve of mine when people say BOTW is a great game but it’s not a great “Zelda” game. I think that crowd objectively does not understand the series’ roots and core gameplay values. This article does a really nice job of describing the original tenets that define “a Zelda game.”

> Developers created a prototype to test their theories, recreating the original Legend of Zelda with an interactive environment where the player could burn trees, pick up the logs and then make rafts from the timber.
Where can we play this? Pretty please?!?!?

>Many players remember stepping onto Hyrule Field the way they recall their first cartwheel.
What a strange sentence. Is the implication that people donāt necessarily have a clear memory of OoT but know they were ecstatic? Or does the author think people genuinely remember doing their first cartwheel, as though itās some major life event?

No way they actually mentioned the Game Theory video about Majoraās Mask
