  1. At the moment. Someone will come along and give it a 7 or something though.

  2. StillhasaWiiU

Any platform not old enough to have a review for SoulCaliber on Dreamcast or Mario 3 on NES can piss off with the “highest rated ever” rhetoric.

I’m curious as to how this game is getting perfect scores. I remember people stating that the game had framerate issues and texture popping. If that was all a lie from someone running it on an emulator then thank god.

Edit: I ask a general question and get downvoted? Now I remember why I don’t interact with this fandom lmao.

  4. leandroluzrn

Im sad everytime I see that 6.0 on Metacritc :/

  5. iLikeTurtuls

Wait 4 years for a game with very little bugs, yeah it’s gonna be the best. Redfall gave nintendo a softball recently lol

  6. Lenguenyal

I gave it 4/10 too much oxygen, I HATE BREATHING!

  7. I saw washingtonpost.com gave it 100/100. Obs haven’t played it yet, but…really? Not 98 or 99 ot 99.5? Still would round up to 10/10.

Let’s settle down, it hasn’t even been a day

  9. liuerluo

it will drop eventually. Elden Ring was 98 when the review embargo lifted last year.

  10. Pigeon_Chess

There really hasn’t been enough time to review the game

  11. TheCrach

Why did Skyward Sword get high critic reviews but alot of people didn’t like it.

  12. hollowglaive

Inb4 review bombing because some dickhead was like “only 4 traditional them d dungeons? No classic Zelda style one off items? 4/10 Hur dur can’t pet the dogs”

Just wait, not only have critics become far more optimistic about games than users, users are now far worse than critics ever were.

I remember a time when it was unthinkable that a game would get a 10. Getting a 9 meant your game was a classic. I remember the time they gave a 10 to Grand Tourismo in my favorite magazine, the first that magazine had ever given, and that was playground news the next day.

Nowadays any game that’s decently put together that doesn’t make you want to hate yourself gets a 9.5 at least. Meanwhile users went from “I played it and enjoyed myself for those 5 hours so it’s the best game I have ever played” to “I know it says 15000 hours, but the most recent update lowered the FPS from 150 to 149, and the devs didn’t respond in 5 min after I complained, and that’s just unacceptable. I can’t recommend the game to anyone until they fixed it!”

thats great and all but not everyone care for that, I loved getting z64 back in 1998 for christmas, I could care less if its nr 1 on metacritic of all time, its not my favorite game of all time, nor anywhere near it however back when it came out it was amazing.

if you guys keep hyping yourself up as this will be the greatest game of all time, you are just setting yourself up to be dissapointed instead.

  15. Just a reminder that Microsoft was confident that Redfall could compete against this

  16. LostWorld413

You saw game informer rate it 9.75 🤣

  17. Stock-Bid-9509

yeah yeah, they say this about every zelda game that comes out. I’m sure it’s gonna be solid. But Zelda hype goes waaay overboard with every release.

  18. JadeNovanis

Sounds great! I want to play it so badly, but times are hard and likely won’t be able to afford it for a few months.

Hope everyone who gets to play it has a great time though!

#zeldasweep at the next Game Awards

  20. IniMiney

Remember the days of people fighting about OOT’s rating vs. Halo

BOTW and Skyward Sword are the worst Zelda games to ever be released, and they both received a lot of 10/10s on release. Gotta wait a few weeks for a non fanboy review.

I’ll pick this game up on sale probably. So far the reviews say it’s basically an expansion to vote so I’m not really interested in playing it.

Just ordered my Collector’s Edition on BestBuy.

It’s been popping up in stock randomly so keep at it if you want one.

  23. PhillipJ3ffries

I mean it just came out.. it will go down

  24. CharlieOak86868686

FROM the people who want to play and so much since they love the last one. so very enthusiatic fans who aren;t likely to hate this because it’s so similar.

Popping in blind to the Nintendo sub to say that my copy arrived yesterday and I will be waiting a few days to start playing. Already dodging spoilers like a minefield. Didn’t watch the gameplay trailer from a couple of weeks ago, haven’t seen anything other than the main trailer from last year, haven’t read any reviews or other coverage. Staying off YouTube and Twitter for a couple of days. Any time I see a thumbnail with Link wearing a toga, the browser window is getting closed.

I was a huge Zelda fan previously, played OoT/MM/WW inside and out, finished them all many times. I hadn’t played video games since I was a teenager (other than stuff like FIFA with friends or Wii Sports at family parties etc), the last games that I remember playing seriously was either Final Fantasy 12 or GTA: San Andreas. So that puts my last real knowledge of where games were at at about 2007-08. But then lockdown hit and I decided to get a Switch and starting playing the open-world Zelda that everyone was raving about.

I knew that: it was an open world game with a really big map, deserts and mountains, Link could climb things and had a paraglider, you don’t wear a green tunic and hat, and I’d seen clips of e.g. Link moving metal blocks around with some kind of magic power. Other than that I went in knowing very little about the game.

Playing BOTW the first time was just *magical*. Like, awe-inspiring. I have really special memories of that time and that story. That first week, when I was playing it for 8 hours a day as the real world outside had basically stopped. The first time I heard that tingly Chinese music, turned the camera around, and saw an *enormous* *dragon* in the night sky, I genuinely gasped.

So for TOTK, I made the choice early to go in as blind as possible. I had seen the main trailer and was kinda disappointed that it seemed to be basically the same map with the same enemies, so the fact that (from what I can tell) everyone is saying that it really expands and improves on everything from BOTW, and is even more impressive as an experience, is just what I was hoping for.

    Really, really excited.

(P.S. Definitely will not be reading any DMs I get after posting this sincere and heartfelt post about how special it is to me and how excited I am to go in to this game without spoilers lol)
