Your not wrong there is definitely an algorithm that changes the teams you see based on the alignment and team you choose, if you change one Pokémon you will see completely different teams. It’s definitely not random and I always know after I have a great set like 5-0 that I’ll probably get hard countered the entire next set. Because of this you have to always win lead on the swap or it’s over but often you can’t even win swap because the algorithm counters you so hard. If you play every day it’s impossible not to notice this. Like how many times do you see a video and someone is like I saw this lead all day and it’s completely different from what you saw that day… it’s because the algorithm matched them that way and your team accordingly. It’s like so obvious. I wish it were random it would be so much better
This is like reading my mind, right after I changed the team because I see a lead in 9/10 battles and then never see it again with the new team… I would even argue this is also valid for switch and closer, as when I see swamperts all along as closer and I get some swampert counter in the back, guess what happens… and yes this still could be meta changes within hours on a day, but for some reason this happens a lot when you start changing your team…
Same happened to me! I battled a bunch of noctowls, got tired of it, changed my lineup and never got a noctowl for the next ten games.
I noticed this 2 weeks ago when I finally decided to do the GBL for stardust. And always on the 5th match, consistently, I was paired with perfect hard counters, no matter how I switched up.
So I stopped. I go in for barely once a week for maybe 2 wins for stardust, and that ONLY if I'm bored with no stardust alternatives. Otherwise, GBL is a waste of time. Play a mainline game for battles.
Did you see any vigoroth leads while using it on the lead as well? I bet not; I do however; my vig. Ivs are 0/13/13, which means I mostly lose mirror lead hehe, they apparently take ivs into account as well. Btw, when I started playing, I scored 2100 with a trash team; happened the same when I started using high ranked teams
I love then channel but when poke says "like the video" it makes me sad because i dont like the algorithm

Poke, thank you for posting These videos my man. I literally just got done playing 3 sets so far today. First set went pretty well.. 4-1 and honestly the one loss was my fault but good to decent leads, and it seemed as if the opponents I was playing against had the algorithm against them.. then the next two sets… 0-5 and 1-4 and seriously out of the 10 games, I bet 8 of them were lead losses to then my safe swap and hard counter, every Got Damn time. And I was even flipping back and forth between ultra and sunshine cup and switching up teams if I loss back to back… so wrong. At this point these tools only care about the profit they continue to earn through their app, they thought this shit would die off like most phone games usually do year or two in (other then some of the OGs) and they were wrong. So now they are trying to find a way to drive the people out. I’m gonna continue to watch and support your videos my man, plus you and I stay in cloud 9, but I can’t play this pvp bull shit anymore. I’m gonna take my dogs for walks and still open it up and look for shinies and what not, but until they fix their rigged ass battle system, im done. Just an absolute atrocity. Seems as if children are running the show at Niantic. Poke, thanks for always being a real g man.
After watching this video I tried switching my team after every match and got 5/5 and 4/5. Most teams were ABB style or balanced.
Algorithm is real, but if it affects everyone, then who cares?

I thought so. Won 10 consecutive matches with a very strong team and all in a sudden got a huge wave of hard counters which made me lose so many points I can't recover. Pfff!!! What a shame Niantic.

I love your content and agree with you entirely so keep that in mind when I say this. Hang it up bro leave stop playing the game it's clear your burnt out on it and it being busted doesn't help I'm sure. If your to the point that you hate to get the content for your channel then move on to something else. I'd rather see you happy making content again then to keep watching you burn out and honestly ruin the game for me, I try not to focus on the broken aspects of the game. But when I watch you heated and hating the game but doing it anyway to make your living it kills my will to play the game but I don't want to stop watching you because I like you and enjoy your content. So sad 😞. I’m a new player and I used hundreds of thousands of stardust to level up the good Pokémon I researched for Sunshine cup for nothing. I noticed this happening to me too. I could have used the Stardust to level my gyming mons. What’s the point of PVP if the algorithm is going to punish you for doing well?
Actually u r right , I didn’t get shadow shiny for one year and half , and I battle leaders daily, when I checked with the help they replied literally with [ we have checked your account and there is no restriction on shiny Pokémon on your account]

I recently got into playing TCG and sometimes I'll come against hard counter decks like 3 games plus and it sucks but I'd rather a 10x loss streak than any sort of game fixing.
Gbl broken winning match but opponents last Pokémon is invisible and my charge attacks aren’t going through so I lose. This is really a dog shit game. Niantic need to pull their hands out of their arse and fix it. Glad i stopped spending money on it

Gotta give it to you poke. The algorithm is so damn disgusting. There's no workaround this. People who say it's all about skills are just dumba$$es who happened to have these "easy mode" accounts. They're so delusional and have no idea what is happening for real.
I have a friend who hits legend every season. Not gonna lie he's a very good battler but I've beaten him quite a lot of times enough to know he's not hitting legend every season just because he's "skilled" but has mostly favorable matchups. I've never got a chance to go past ace myself. Have reached the upper 2400s and then the algorithm decides to give me a hard time! 🥲

I’ve been complaining about the GBL algorithm a lot. I’ll win 10 in a row and then lose 15 in a row. And yes, always facing the same mons until I change my lineup and then face completely different ones. For anyone to say there’s no algorithm for GBL matchups… ummm, lies.
I swear I have experienced this exact thing. Tons of one pokemon on lead or in the team, countering my current team handily – so then I change up to counter the most common thing I am seeing and IT DISAPPEARS. Don't see another one for match after match after match.
Someone said that Niantic wanted to get GBL classified as a "sport" so there would be no way they could rig it like this to make it tougher for people to win and climb – but so often I see this same thing. But it would definitely benefit them in terms of making people believe they just need to power their pokemon up more, or catch the most powerful legendary and get all the candies they can – paying for stuff (raid passes, bag and item space, and even balls) to do all of that.
And when you stop to think about it, they already have that capability in choosing teams for you for raids. Not that that is perfect by any means, but they obviously have a way they can throw a team or pokemon to a function that returns its strengths or weaknesses. All they would have to do is pass 3 different in-queue people versus your team, see which one breaks you best and throw that at you.
I don't necessarily think that the people at the top are "hand-picked" by Niantic – I just think they are the ones with the strategies and handle on game theory that lets them overcome the BS.
I don't even play PVP because of this. It is i.possible to rank up

Lmao just now after commenting on this and playing I finished a set, then next set was like I'm going to try my shadow hitmonchan again in UL, LITERALLY 2nd battle with it my opponent has hitmonchan lollllllllll
I had a vigo, stunfisk, noctowl team for 20 sets I had 78% vigo leads. I changed up to trev, vigo, golem team and I get 72% noctowl leads… and I suddenly saw a lot of dubwool countering me hard that I never ever saw with my other team
I'm a good battler, with good IV pokemon, and I can NEVER get out of ACE Rank. Every time I get close my next 10 battles I lose opening matchup and get hard countered on switch. It really feels like the game doesn't want me to do better.
