Really hope it fixed the game. Been wanting to pick this up since launch. Was one if my favorite games on the GameCube.

  2. After reading the patch notes, it’s probably a good idea not to expect much from this. The Switch-specific issues aren’t really listed here.

I’ve been waiting on picking this up. I loved the original on GameCube, but this version had so many issues, I couldn’t buy it in good conscience.

The GC game is maybe my fav video game of all time. I also bought the switch remaster and played through it. In my experience, the occasional frame rate drops weren’t noticeable EXCEPT for in fights with Collette in my party after a pretty early/significant event where her character model gets more complex lol

The game is pretty laggy if you plan to keep Collette on your main roster for battles. I just never used her except when required and it did not change my enjoyment of the game. I did not try switching her to a different costume to see if that would help, but I don’t really care about Collette so I wasn’t going to go out of the way to get her a costume title.

If any of you have a Wii U you can just download the gamecube version and play using usb loader gx

Yeah I doubt the inferior ps2 version will ever be 60fps… shame they used it as the basis for further ports..,

  7. Sunlit_Neko

Still not worth it. Missing/awkward dialogue, 30 fps (in a reaction-based action RPG), and butchered artstyle kind of ruin the experience.

How is it compared to Vesperia? Vesperia was my first Tales game and I adored it, enjoyed about half of Abyss, and got about an hour into Arise before being really confused about what it was suppose to be (mainly I haaaaated the controls so much I stopped playing)

Tales fans need to organize and mass produce videos/replies looking at the patch notes and saying this is not enough.

Instead of tens or hundreds or thousands of fans saying the same thing to each other, organize and hit them with tons of videos saying the same shit at once.

    New game comes out?

Tens or hundreds of thousands of fans post videos saying to be careful, “how can we know it won’t be garbage after what they did with..”

I PROMISE you, you will get a response.

I hope the reason this game is sold out at some
retailers is because they’re planning on stocking shelves with a revision that has the patch.

I’m really happy to see a QoL update for the game 🙂

  13. Fingers crossed as a big Tales fan. I really wanna have a great handheld experience with this

Should I just stick with my PS3 remaster collection?

  15. Dukemon102

The battle screen transitions aren’t getting fixed. That’s pathetic.

  16. CookiesFTA

Is this patch including the remastering?

Insane for the game to have launched in “worst version of the game” state and only *now* be getting anything addressed. TOS is one of my favourite games of all time, but I don’t feel bad at all for passing on it.

  18. hermit_purple_3

Glad i waited on buying. Hopefully this fixes most of the issues

  19. HarkiniansDinner

It is insane that a game that ran at 60 FPS on Gamecube has had progressively worse performance on each successive re-release – *despite not upgrading the visuals*.

Can we get a patch that turns this into Tales of Rebirth instead?
