I’m excited this is coming to switch. Obviously this will look a lot worse than the XSX and PS5 versions, but I think netherrealms did a great job porting the Switch version of MK11. I had a lot of fun with that one.

I find it funny that WB can spend all the money in the world pulling off fucking witchcraft to shove the single most polygon stuff fighting game, with the most voice dialouge and pre-rendered cutscenes, onto the Fucking Switch, when lower spec games like Guilty Gear and KoF don’t even try, and yet they’d tax write off the entire Cartoon Network library just to say $2 MIL in taxes. You know in “I have no hands, and I must burn a Hollywood executive” kinda way.

I was wondering why they chose “1” in the leaks, cause I don’t think we needed ANOTHER reboot.
But literally going back to basics is what the series needed.

The website mentions a mechanic called “Kameo Fighters” which appears to be an entirely separate roster of assist characters that can be tagged in during fights
It sounds like basically an ArcSys or Capcom Vs. style tag without you actually being able to control these characters separately, and because it’s a separate roster it sounds like a compromise for getting characters who didn’t make the main lineup into the game through other means. Basically, a lot of cuts from MK11 are probably happening given it’s a reboot

Then again, MK peaked around Mortal Kombat Trilogy. Time to fire up the PS1 for my MK needs.

Are we locking a character behind a pre-order? Nope. That screen really just shits the bed on the whole thing for me right from the get-go. Like hey, we’re announcing this new game, and already here’s something that you’re **not** going to get for your money unless you pre-order. How about I don’t order at all? Hopefully it turns out that he’s an unlockable or something.
Interesting idea though… to go back to its roots. I thought by the title of it that they were going to remake the first game, which would be a neat idea except the idea of releasing a big budget fighting game today with only 7 playable characters in it would be silly.
