When it comes to duplication glitches in single player games I’m of the kind that if you wanna break the game and use them all the power to you.

It’s a single-player game. If you wanna ruin it for yourself, go for it.

I don’t mind working for armor and rewards by doing tasks and quests but rupee farming isn’t my idea of fun. I’m already rupee farming at work all day

  4. bendytoepilot

Life’s too short to gather items I’m going to use it

So due to time/work I’m kinda just trying to power through the game while taking in all the new things, so I don’t mind using this glitch to my advantage. I’m at 55k rupees with it, but I’m curious if anyone further ahead can recommend a good minimum number of rupees to reach if I want the luxury of buying all the outfits and other big items (example my house, but I already bought that) without having to worry about my wallet later on? 100k? Something else?

  6. I just want this glitch to last long enough for me to find another diamond.

EDIT: Thanks for the advice, everyone. I managed to get one from the numerous ores in Death Mountain. I duped about 30 of em too. I got money!

Because the release that we got was months old, because that’s how long it takes to test things. When the update came around, you can assume they were already working on the leading up to the release. This is also why most games have a day-1 patch, because it represents the weeks/months of development time leading up to the release, while the actual release was a months old build that got shipped. Despite what could very well have been years of testing, players will find new bugs on day 1 that the devs couldn’t find in a 1000 years. I’m going to bet my hat this was one of them. It’ll probably be fixed in the next patch a few weeks/month(s) from now.

Making it rain diamonds in the Hyrule Kingdom

You can turn off auto-download for updates in settings, to anyone who wants to exploit it and not worry about it getting patched. Just be careful whenever you launch the game to select start software and not download update.

  10. I feel like “Game-Breaking” is an inaccurate and dramatic way of describing a glitch that a player only benefits from and is extremely unlikely to happen unintentionally.

A game breaking bug is something that prevents you from playing a game, not something you can use if you choose to make the game easier. That’s just a bug which sure I guess any bug can be considered to be something broken about the game but, lets be real this isn’t preventing anyone from playing the game traditionally if they choose.

    Then again it is Kotaku.

Why the fuck are bombs so rare? We had *unlimited* in the last game

I’m having trouble doing it consistently and I’ve watched a few tutorials and still can’t quite nail it. Anyone have some tips?

  13. astrallknight

I’m just happy I have 2 hylian shields.

“Game-Breaking” lol. Have they even tried using it? It’s a pain in the ass to do consistently and in most cases it’s faster to just go out and gather if you need items in large quantities. Its biggest use case is duping diamonds for rupees, and all that one does is remove one of the most annoying aspects of this game. Why waste resources fixing it?

I deleted my wifi details on my Switch after leatning about item duping. I dont need updates tyvfm.

You can get the Master Sword way early in Breath of the Wild and that hasn’t been patched yet, so…

  17. MOhVillain

the only time I plan on using this glitch is for dragon parts, I think farming one of each type and then duplicating them is a nice way to balance intended mechanics but it not be tedious, farming 30 or so of each dragon part just isn’t fun

  18. HamsterSashimi

Well asking for 2 diamonds to make a fucking bow ain’t fun either

  19. fatdude901

Classic kotaku with the dumb articles

It’s a single player game doubt Nintendo will try to fix it for awhile
