I’m on a switch bought in 2021 on the latest patch and finding combat with more then a couple enemies/npcs to be pretty unenjoyable with the frame drops.

I’m on a day one switch and I’ve gotten frame drops when entering towns and and when turning on ultra hand

Nice collab between John Linneman from Digital Foundry and MVG. Double the tech guys, double the insights.

The Switch is running on older tech and it’s essentially a high performance tablet, so the frame rate and dips are to be expected with a game this big. The Zelda team put their heart and soul (and expertise) into this project, so there’s only so much optimization they can do until the hardware truly limits their vision. It’s not a surprise at all that it dips and stutters here and there. I’m surprised people are complaining about it too given the dated hardware and how massive the game is. It shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. Let’s be reasonable.
