New Wirral? I’m from the Wirral, I wonder if the developers are based nearby.

  2. Can’t buy the game unfortunately. eShop won’t let me.

  3. Darkjolly

1000% recommended. The last time a monster tamer game hooked me so hard, I played through hunger and sleep deprivation was Pokemon Emerald for me in 2004

  4. typhlo10

I’ve put over 40 hours into it on Steam in the past few weeks, and it’s fantastic! Can’t recommend it enough!

  5. Good game. But go into the options to disable the lyrics of the background music.

    You’re welcome

  6. ClownMorty

This is the first I’ve heard of it, but it looks awesome and I will play

  7. joaoGarcia

Been playing on PC, probably not even at half the game, and it’s pretty fun! The way the “types” affect each other, not just raising your damage, just feels so good and made me realize just how much pokemon refuses to experiment/evolve

  8. The_Almighty_Duck

I read that very wrong by adding an unnecessary R in “beasts”

  9. SoundOfTheSun69ing

Can anyone confirm if it’s 60 fps? Any noticeable performance issues?

  10. MondoCoffee

Nice I’m hoping to grab it at some point to feature it on my review channels. šŸ‘ŒšŸ¼

Damn wish I would’ve waited to get on Switch. Such a fun game!

Hey, one half of the core dev team here! It’s been a wild ride getting to this point with Cassette Beasts. If you have any questions, please ask and I’ll do my best to answer!

We’ve gotten some reports from Switch users that the game hasn’t gone up on their stores in their regions yet – I’m not super sure what’s up with that but we think it could just be that there’s a delay in updating stores across different regions. Our publisher is aware of it!

Is this like a 2.5d SMT kept style game? What end game options or activities are there? I loved temtem until end game ran dry for co-op activities. Are the shiny or rare monster variants I can hunt for in game? What are those odds? Thanks anyone for extra info!

  14. I’m definitely going to pick this up eventually!!

  15. Lazy_Friendship_9719

Tried to download it this morning at 7 but I couldn’t, can’t wait to play when I get home!

  16. gingimli

It’s also on Game Pass for those with the option.

  17. Low_Bug6288

Bought it but it seems to run like shit. Constant stuttering and framedrops which is bizarre given it’s basically a 2D sprite-based game

  18. Tito1983

I’m looking to buy a game like this but I’m between Monster Sanctuary and this one….suggestions?

  19. SuperGayBirdOfPrey

Highly recommend this game, it’s one of the few indie monster collectors that actually feels like it’s being it’s own thing instead of just ā€œnot PokĆ©monā€.

  20. Fun game so far. I love some of the comedic moments and the fact that there are so many early optional quests.

  21. AsbestosAnt

Is it only couch co op or online as well?

  22. Flerken_Moon

Oh holy crap I never heard of this game before but just looked at images- this game looks EXACTLY the type of artstyle I love, never was attracted to other ā€œfan-made PokĆ©mon-esqueā€ monster catchers before, it looks really good and a perfect fit to my taste! Definitely will check it out- it looks like a dream game made perfectly for me.

  23. OpenForPeople

I’ve been looking forward to this game for quite a while. But are all the tracks sung by the singer from this ad? Because it’s flat and I couldn’t stand to listen to it for longer than 3 lines.

  24. purple__milkshake

I have it on stream, played through about half of it I’d say.

It’s a decent game, story is definitely interesting. I enjoy having a main quest line and side quests, which I’ve never seen in a monster tamer(haven’t played a ton of them)

Gameplay is just your usual monster battle, the fusions don’t really make the battle more interesting, neither does the PP system, which is each attack has a cost, you need that PP to use(it’s not called PP in the game something else).

The music is sensational, definitely adds a lot to the ambience of the game. The artwork is pretty good too, the creature designs are decent, way better than the stuff in game like Tem Tem.

Would I justify it’s cost and recommend it to a friend? Not really, it’s 2023 and there’s just way too many good free games out there unfortunately.

That’s not to the say the game isn’t good, I think it is, but just doesn’t stick out in the grand scheme of games these days.

  25. RampantRetard

Probably going to hold off on this until performance is smoothed out, but it looks solid. Definitely on my radar!

  26. HausmanPrime

I put 80 hours into this on Steam Deck, pokemon and non pokemon fans alike. This is worth your time and money

  27. bingthebongerryday

This game looks fun. I see it’s also on game pass. Gonna try it out on my series x before pulling the trigger on the switch version.

  28. Man! That song intro is so StarFox (Corneria)

  29. KyledKat

If you haven’t played it, this isn’t really a Pokemon-clone like TemTem or Monster Crown are. Really, it feels more SMT-inspired than anything, though the Pokemon influence is on its sleeve. Picked it up for PC a while back and it’s been pretty solid so far.

  30. MoonieSarito

It’s pretty cool to see more “PokĆ©mon alternatives” being released on the Switch and gaining prominence, I gave Temtem a chance and I just loved it, I’d even say I had more fun than the recent PokĆ©mon games, this Cassette Beats caught my attention , maybe I’ll end up giving it a chance too.

  31. It bugs me so much that there’s no sprite for diagonal movement

  32. sdcar1985

See Game Freak? This is what a “pokemon” game looks like when you actually try.
