I don’t really get patching out glitches like that. The player has to go out of their way to do it, and it’s not hurting anything really.
Is the player experience really any better if they actually go and farm those 90 ambers to upgrade the hylian armour?
Looks like Im not updating ToTK
Haven’t even updated my game yet. Just been playing the whole time
I wanted to update to 1.1 so I could do the easier dupe glitch, but accidentally downloaded the new patch. I have never felt such despair for having to play a game as it was intended to be played
32 people are here rn I need a new dupe method
I was on my PC and heard my Switch make a sound and looked over and saw that it updated. My heart dropped and I took to the internet. I knew this is what it was :/
I’m not updating my game until I have 999 of all the gems and like 100K rupees💀
This was never intended, so have it, a blessing; not have it, fine by me.
Crying for developers patch their game because they don’t hope people play the game in a unintended way is kinda an act of a loser.
I don’t get it, this time it didn’t even ask me if i wanted to update my game. I wish they didn’t patch it 🙁
A new glitch will be discovered eventually. In the mean while I’m not updating my game until the DLC releases.
Damn 😫 mine autoupdated and I didn’t even realize it
Glad I turned off auto update a few days ago then lol
My switch was on airplane mode and it still somehow updated, I was literally trying to get a single farochs talon so I could finish upgrading the fierce deity set an hour before hand too😭
I had actually turned auto-update off on my switch once this dupe glitch showed up on youtube. I knew they would patch it quick. And I am not running around looking for butterflies for 3 hours.
My old forearms take awhile to get things duped too. It’s like doing a QTE button smash for 30 minutes.
To oblivion with auto update
People can play the game how they want but item duping in a game as rich as this is lame.
I turned my Switch on after work to play and it automatically forced an update. It didn’t ask if I wanted to update like it normally does. I had been holding out to try duping later in the game when I had played it normally. I’m really bummed that I don’t have the option to use the glitch now but I did double dip with a digital and physical game. With my unopened physical copy I think I could do the glitch if I uninstall the updates and digital copy OR play on another Switch. I’m afraid if I uninstall the digital copy that I might corrupt my data. If I have a digital copy save file can I use a cartridge copy to open that and if so will it still be compatible with the physical version?
Does anyone know how to roll back an update to the game?
Since no one responded I will take that as a no
No updating for me until I upgraded every costume. They really doubled down in making materials and gaining money in this game to being more tedious.
I panicked the moment I saw an update going in and went into airplane mode, then started googling. The little bar under my game icon was about a third of the way through. I turned off auto updates, went back to the game, and managed to cancel the download. I turned airplane mode back off and everything seems fine but I’m still a little nervous about leaving it connected to the internet.
I accidentally did the update. I’m screwed 😭
But how else am I supposed to get a shit ton of dark clumps and star fragments for the armor upgrades?
I was using the dupe glitch to increase my battery but it’s been patched I’ll wait for a new dupe glitch but finding the enemies for the large zonaite for the 51 @ a time will be a trying time. Which of the 2 do I keep killing? The 1 you use bomb flowers in the mouth? Or the arrow to the eye? Finding them both will be a tough time
Fyi I deleted the game and reinstalled in airplane mode and I can’t even play it now without the update installed. It just says “update required to play” and wont let me enter the game at all.
Nintendon’t. No Fun Allowed.
I just started my Switch and it had automatically updated the game in sleep mode. Fuck. My. Life. I’ actually pissed about this.
So I made myself the rule that I could dupe, but only for rupees, and in particular only enough for an armor set. I really don’t want to sell 700 moblin horns or the like just to get enough rupees for the sheikah armor set (which was my favorite set from BotW). Duping 4 diamonds and grabbing the set was significantly more better.
Not really bothered with duping myself, only thing i did was Rupees ( with diamonds )
Just so i could by Armour.
I mean each to there own, fun game .
So any ideas how to revert this update? Already done on my switch but i do own the physical copy
Okay, so if I wanted to 100% the game but not spend aeons doing repetitive farming for the rarest items, which items should I guarantee I get and duplicate before I patch the game?

I heard someone mention star fragments and diamonds. Anything else?
The game was a 10/10 before I knew about the glitch, and will be fun afterwards. BUT … I turned off auto updates and am staying on 1.1.1 for a bit.
I also find Minecraft creative mode fun. TOTK with item duplication of grindy material is also fun (for me).
Of course I buy the game the day the dupe glitch gets patched, tried it so many times last night and it wouldn’t work now I see why
Well when I get home from school today I guess I’ll be turning off automatic updates :/
I love how this subreddit has been saying “this is literally the best game of all time” and y’all have been cheating this entire time LOL
Here’s how you get all your glitches back:
1. Delete full internet, password and all from your switch – full offline.
2. Then remove cartridge from switch
3. Delete the game software – if you read the text below delete software, it states your save is not lost.
4. The put your cartridge back into the switch and let the game recognize it.
5. You should get 1 of 2 options
– 1st option: Start Software / Download, pick Start Software and it should load your save and all the glitches should be intact
– 2nd option: Software update required before starting the game – in which case say yes to the update. I think this option comes up sometimes if there is some software update that needs to be extracted from the actual cartridge, my old switch got this prompt when I clicked yes, it started updating and after 100% update it started the game at Patch 1.0.0, all OFFLINE.
6. Play the game with full internet off, chances are if you even turn on the internet into that switch it will auto update. While I was playing the game, it was trying to force update but with no internet the download bar wasn’t moving.
All glitches are intact. Only downside is your at 1.0.0 and not 1.1.1. However, if you wanna do pure glitch you can just glitch for x999 items and all the weapons you want and then update the game to 1.1.2. Then if you need more dupe stuff, just follow the above steps.

Edit: This method for some reason is not working for a lot of you. I actually for testing purpose fully updated my old switch and got the zelda: Totk to 1.1.2. Then repeated the above steps and went back to 1.0.0. It never forced me to go online to update, just gave me the option of Start / Download. I picked start and played the game without updating.
My only guess for this discrepancy is if you guys let your game autosave on the new patch 1.1.2, then I think that switch systems like wired back to nintendo server and that switch is tainted. Its highly likely even if you factory reset you might still get a prompt to connect to internet or it won’t let you play. So the only option is to start from scratch on a new switch if the above method isn’t working for you.
Never updating until I at least get the items from the dragons.
I have the game on switch but I only play emulated as it’s far more stable, easy patch skip if you ask me.
I used it a couple of times today just to get some rupees, but it’s more annoying and repetitive than seeking out the actual supplies lmao. At least I get to explore when I’m looking for gems and what not.
I am so thankful that past me left the game running when I put my Switch to sleep mode. I woke up, turned out my switch, turned off auto-update, and now I can keep duping items to my heart’s content.
I’ve been avoiding spoilers like the plague. What was the dupe glitch? Lol I’m so ootl
Question I’m reseting my switch factory for other reasons but haven’t played game yet will I be able to play it without updating?
I’ve had my Switch in Airplane mode since I started playing Totk. Also just saw today I had Auto Update on. So that is now turned OFF. I will not update the game if possible. Not having to farm for materials or worry if my great weapons/shields/bows break. Increases my enjoyment of the game exponentially. Doesn’t matter to me how a game is meant to be played, nor do I have the time to farm and grind games like I used to.
Why is everyone upset that you have to actually, gasp, play the game the correct way instead of cheating?
Why? It’s obvious people want to cheat lol just let us cheat…I enjoy the game more when I’m overpowered and haven’t gotta spend hours grinding for shit
The jump glitch is still working.
Wild how much easier it was to dupe stuff than BotW. Some folks were running into duping glitches [by accident](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/kAKsPgaLCuA).
I had my game running almost since launch but for some stupid reason decided to fully close it last night before putting it in sleep mode. Woke up to a patched game… I understand duplication isn’t the intended way to play but it’s a singleplayer game and duping doesn’t hurt anyone. It just allows those of us with less time for grinding to get to the parts of the game we want to experience. I’m sure there will be more duplication glitches but I don’t know if any of them will be as easy as it was before 1.1.2. I really wish there was an option to revert back, or you know, not have the system set to automatically update games by default.
