Hello! I’ve purchased an Nintendo Licensed SanDisk 256gb memory card. I have ran the h2testw program to check if the microSD really have 256gb of memory, and it has passed on the test, it has written all the way to the max size and read the written data as fine as well. BUT, I also contacted the SanDisk support and sent them a front/back pic so they would confirm if it’s genuine or not. And I have received an email from them yesterday confirming it’s actually a COUNTERFEIT product. But, how is it possible? Always when I’ve bought something fake, it always had much smaller size than advertised, but in this case I got a memory card with the right memory size but still NOT genuine. How’s that?! Is it really fake or SanDisk support have made a mistake analyzing the serial number on the back of the cart?
I have uploaded all the useful prints for better understading.
The highlighted message on one of the prints means: “Unfortunately, based on the information you provided to us, we concluded that this product isn’t a genuine SanDisk product.”

how should anybody here know better than sandisk support?
you neglected a huge detail
where did you purchase it?
I agree with them.
Here’s a picture of a genuine card for comparison: https://i.imgur.com/C7KjRXQ.jpg
Note that on yours, the:
* SanDisk logo is in the wrong font; it looks closer to the [old logo](https://logos-world.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/SanDisk-Logo-History.jpg) used in the noughties
* Markings on the back differ – although there could be genuine reasons for this, another non-Switch branded SanDisk card I have from a few years ago has markings similar to the one in my photo
* Nintendo Switch logo is in the wrong font
* Quality of the printing is lower
It’s interesting that the fakers have gone to the trouble of including the whole 256GB. What’s the read/write performance like?
Realistically, if it pass H2 it probably doesn’t .atter if it’s fake or not. SD card performance is poor regardless of brand / class, so really it comes down to capacity and price
they are real and have been on the market for years but you got burnt with a fake one it sounds like. Youd have to stick to larger trustworthy retailers. not sure what one in Brazil would do.
