I like it. I know people LOVE the modern Sonic look, but this is the art I prefer. The gameplay looks interesting. Cautiously optimistic. Could easily be the Shredder’s Revenge of Sonic if done correctly.
Almost wish they wouldn’t have the classic style in the trailer. It looks good enough to be its own thing. This just brings comparisons to the original which has a very specific feel that no doubt will turn some off if it’s not exact or close.
That said the new looks cool enough for me to play with my kids get so I’ll keep an eye out.

It looks like Sonic the Hedgehog 4 and the 2D levels of Sonic Generations. 2D, HD, but not sprites.
So not exactly an “all new look” but I’m still excited for more 2D HD Sonic.

I just wish Sega and Nintendo would settle down together and remake a lot of Sega’s old catalog. Specifically Shining Force 1 2 and 3. Three complete mind you, not just scenario one like we originally got here in the West. All three scenarios. Plus in my honest opinion if anyone was to get Sega it should be Nintendo since they started the whole console wars it’s only fitting that Sega joins Nintendo and become one.

This actually looks good. I’m actually interested if it turns out well. Hope its not too hard for my gf and son either, Mania was great, but quickly got too much for them.
This reminds me, I have yet to pick up Frontiers. Didn’t hear anything more about it after launch. Was going to wait for the crowd to tell me it wasn’t broken or rubbish, and what it runs like on various platforms… Maybe everyone was too busy enjoying it?

Still, did they say who was developing it? Given how incredible Sonic Mania was, part of me hopes their team is involved in some way. Studiopolis Zone is honestly one of the best zones in Sonic history, which is something Sega has struggled with in recent years I think, just coming up with new zones.

More solid proof that scrimblo sized sonic looks way better especially in an environment where his design actually fits than modern stretched out sonic in jarring realistic environments. Argue all you want but next to realistic ass humans his cartooney eyes can only be seen as a conceptually horrifying monoeye with multiple pupils.

It’s been 30 years since they’ve made a Sonic game that I actually wanted to play… I’m having a hard time believing that they actually looked at what made the original games so fun and IMPROVED on those things…
This couldn’t have been made by Sega. This looks too good for Sega, they had to have outsourced to the fans again or something. There’s not enough terrible 3D platforming, cringy dialogue, and god awful music for it to be a Sega Sonic game…

Sonic 2 was my favourite as a kid, everything after just felt like the Sonic 2 with new levels and characters, until they made the switch to 3D and killed the franchise for me completely.
This feels like a true successor.
(I hope they bring back Sonic 2’s title music and “star power” theme.

Sonic meets Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze. This looks more like the natural evolution of Sonic games. Not to knock Mania, because that’s a 100% classic game. I am knocking Frontiers though.
