Day 1 purchase for me and I haven’t bought a game for myself on the family Switch since the first BotW years ago. I played the first one on GameCube as a kid and haven’t ever played the second. I’m pumped.

  2. Mann, the back half of this year is packed with awesome games.

Baten Kaitos, Baldurs Gate 3, Starfield, Spider-man 2. Not sure when I’m going to get time to play all this!

Speeding up gameplay, turning off random encounters, standard stuff we see on remasters of JRPGs from the PS1/PS2/Gamecube era.

The first Baiten Kaitos has one of the biggest “Oh shit” plot twists I’ve experienced. I’ve not forgotten to this day how I felt about it. Highly recommended game.

Such a shame to lose Origins’ English dub though (Not the first one. That one needs a re-dub).

Wow I am hyped. My first JRPG, sooo many fun memories playing it on GCN. The battle system is pretty singular, interested to see how well it’s aged

September 14, 2023, if you’re just looking for the release date.

This makes me emotional. This game is going to be launched near my birthday and I remember getting this game (I think it was the first one) + tales of Symphonia+ Zelda wind waker in my 7th birthday like 15 years ago…time flies, still this is going to be a day one for me.

  7. Starfall33

Day 1 for me even though Orgins should’ve had english dub.

The only reason I knew anyone ever bought Beaten Kaitos is because I did when I was a kid. I’m so psyched, this is a series I never thought I’d hear of again.

  9. MiraiKishi

If this comes out and plays BETTER than the Symphonia remaster, I’m going to be right pissed.

  10. God_of_Hyrule

Did they happen to mention a price point for this?

  11. MagnyusG

So many spoilers, geez. Do they not realise how many people have never even heard of the game and yet they’re throwing so many big events in the trailer.

    YESSSSSSSS

    My favorite Gamecube-era RPGs!

  13. InnerNetwork1895

This gives me final fantasy 9 vibes.

  14. Wait does this not have english voice acting like the original? In that case I might as well just repurchase them for gamecube.

Had the first one on GameCube but never beat it. I remember thinking the battle system was difficult, but maybe i was just too young at the time. Looking forward to picking this up and trying again!

I don’t play games without dubs (don’t know why, I only watch subbed anime) so I will be playing these in other ways. Which game should I play first ? Origins implies first but also that it was made after something.

Got the first game around launch and was one of the best looking games I played. Not sure if I ever beat it though. I ended up getting Origins used at Gamestop years later too.

Bit odd that the original English dub is not included. Perhaps some licensing issue? Even though I’d plan to play with Japanese voices, it’d be nice to have English voices as an option. Wonder if there will be a NTSC-U retail copy down the line.

  18. Loved the 1st one. Really bring back memories

I had always heard of this game and was vaguely interested but wasn’t aware of the pedigree of the game until after playing Xenoblade. The Xenoblade games are now some of my favourite games so I am absolutely stoked to pick this game up.

Now I’m just hoping for a modern Xenosaga port because as far as I can tell the game has only ever been released for the PS2.

  20. I really want the physical version of this game. 💙🪽

Can we trust this after how by the Tales “remaster was”? Is there really no english VA??

  22. Joerpg1984

I’m excited to play these again.

I agree, I’m sad about taking away the English dub. I can’t concentrate when they speak in another language while reading and miss what’s going on in the game. Just like the trailer I can’t see what’s going on reading the subtitles, and my brain is distracted by the voice in another language. It’s like the feeling when someone is trying to talk to me while reading. ADD brain 🙁

I just wish it was given to us as an option. I do hope at the very least it will allow voice volume options for story, and in battle so I can only have it in battle.

I may be in the minority, but all the Atelier games before Suelle I always played in English and games released after that had Japanese only so I turned the voices low to not get distracted.

It was also part of the charm with the “tin can” voices from the first BK, and Origins was fine.

I’m old school and used to some funny voice acting anyway. I won’t get over some Shining Force 3, and Star Ocean Second Story “Noel” when he casts some spells in a severe depressed flat voice 😆.

Hope this leads to skies of Arcadia and path of radiance remasters

  24. ParadiseRegaind

No English dub and no physical release. No thanks.
