Well deserved. It’s an amazing game and very enjoyable. It brought some good new additions to Monster Hunter too with the Wire Bugs and Palamutes.

46% attach rate for paid DLC is pretty wild actually.

  3. Hangmanned

How many would be on Switch and how many would be on PC approximately?

  4. magicalmelon567

Well, it is multi platform now, so that’s to be expected

waiting some mhw enjoyers keep saying mhw still outsold rise/s

Great game, but I really wish it had cross play.

Felt a little conflicted picking MHR+Sunbreak when I only made it to late HR rank in MHGU, but even if I never finish either of these games they were well worth the time investment and I’m super happy with roughly 200 hours across both games so far.

Just bought it on switch during the summer sale, I’m only on 3 star quests but I’m having a blast so far

It got me into MH and I really enjoyed it! Somehow only played the DLC for a little bit and then other games came out for other consoles – maybe I‘ll give it a shot again!

Have it on PC, my first Monster Hunter game, but it’s been too difficult.

How does it play on switch? Always spiked my curiosity the monster hunter franchise (I’ve never played any of them)

Capcom has been absolutely on fire the last 6 years. As far as gaming devs go they are #1 for me right now. Every game they’ve made has lived up to the hype, IMO and in some cases (SF6) surpassed it.

I had a blast with it, I have more than 1k5 hours and I’m still playing it (I’m currently anomaly 267). Sword and shield is so good in this episode and Sunbreak was such an improvement over base Rise. The roster is great, they did justice to a lot of monsters and the difficulty is sure here in very-end game. You can do tons of different builds too, it’s pretty crazy.

    Bless the Monster Hunter series.

Does that mean 19 million total sold of MH rise?

Deserved. If Rise was a 9/10 game, Sunbreak is an easy 10/10. Capcom really knocked it out of the park with this game

  16. One of the most lackluster recent installments in the series. Low amount and suspires in updates (relative to the MH series).

Lack of content (Again, relative to the series) where the full game content or QOL features are intended to be released later as updates in attempt to prolong the life span of the game (World has similar criticism but Rise is getting worse).

Going backwards in the matchmaking and gaming lobby mechanism because need to accompany the Switch version. Despite Capcom doing a great job in getting the every last bit of performance from Switch, it holds back the performance comparing version on other platforms. The reason why the switch version has the most playerbase, most time attackers are running the PC version.

Terrible end game grinding design introduces too much randomness. It’s almost impossible to get the best builds without cheating and that’s also part of the reason the majority of time attackers are on PC. If done legitimately, the benefits over efforts and time spent are not worth it even for many hardcore players.

More aggressive DLC approach and setting precedence of layered weapon DLC.

You could argue that you still got a lot out of the game for the price point but it’s actually less compared to the previous installments of the series. There’s a reason why iceborn still has more active players on PC the Sunbreak.

  17. IntrinsicStarvation

It’s speed running world/icebornes performance, and world’s sales was fucking insane.

  18. I bought it with the DLC, got distracted and haven’t started… I know, I am a horrible MH fan. I have tried to only focus on one game at a time and that is currently tied to TotK. When I play multiple games at once, I tend to never complete them. Problem is, my backlog is daunting.

  19. Deserved. Now, if we could combine World’s polished level design with Rise’s superior gameplay and matchmaking, I’d be in heaven.

  20. DoodleBuggering

And people wonder why Capcom mostly focuses on MH and RE.

  21. EMI_Black_Ace

Is that just on Switch or all platforms?

  22. MightyMilkBag

I ended up grabbing the steam sunbreak deluxe edition for around 20$ and just stream it to the switch, personally way better experience for me

  23. aruhen23

I bought this a while ago on a nice sale on Steam and I still have yet to beat it. Too many games to play.

My wish though is the next game is a mix of this and World. I really enjoyed the detailed zones of World and the poop but the gameplay of Rise was more fun.

  24. luistox1

I didn’t like MHR, the bosses just have crazy amount of life, maybe it’s not my thing to and I get bored and inpatient

  25. Part of me really wanna try rise, I absolutely LOVED MH:W. But the iceborne DLC, with the addition of the grapple and later monsters turning… Just absurd kind of killed my enjoyment of it and I feel like rise is also just – more mechanics, faster, more damaging and tankier monsters is exactly what I disliked about iceborne.

I just like it simple, and the base game of world was exactly that.

I tried the demo and the combat/inventory system just did not click for me.

Never played a monster hunter game before, but it felt like a PC game ported to console with all the menus.

I was personally hoping for something more like BOTW with friends. That’s just my opinion though, not hating.

I still need to get around to Sunbreak
