Hey guys, I just wanted to share my ideas and thoughts on future Nintendo related stuff primarily focusing on movies. These include what I would like to see in a movie in Nintendo properties or if not in a movie could be used in a future game. I will be going though each Nintendo property, some nintendo properties such as Fire Emblem, Star Fox and F-Zero I had left out as I am not familiar with those franchises.
Mario:
I have not seen the Mario Movie yet so I am going to share my personal ideas of the movie before the first reveal.
I imagine peach to be alike her video game counter part, very sweet, caring, and sharing many qualities associated with a woman. But she is also a strong leader and is firm with her stance. She is also intelligent, bypassing the need for violence.
I see a scene where Peach is inside a “prison”, filled with a comfortable bed, books, pretty much everything Bowser could think off that he thinks Peach would like and Peach is just bored and uninterested. When Bowser enters the room to start a date with Peach, she acts polite towards Bowser, even commenting about the exhilarating view (looking outside the window to see lava everywhere). As the conversation starts she notices that bowser is nervous and fidgety, so she uses this to her advantage. She mentions that its a shame to have a date without biscuits to eat (I thought it would be fun if the biscuits are shaped like the cookies from Yoshi Cookie) playing it off as a casual remark which makes Bowser jump and quickly order his Koopas to bake biscuits hastily. Because Bowser is in a careless state, he left the door open allowing Peach to explore the castle (cue stealth section). Obviously, Peach in the Mario Movie we got have a different character, but I am just throwing out my ideas.
Luigi is going to have a character arc of finding the confidence to step out of his brothers shadow. Its not like Mario wanted to overshadow him, but he always stays behind in his safe bubble despite being arguably more talented than Mario (hence the higher jump). This may probably happen in a Luigi’s mansion movie.
Also, have a store based on the Mario RPG games. The one that comes to mind is Mario Superstar Saga, or at least get the goofy comedy and brotherly interactions.
Zelda:
I rather have a movie with an original story based on elements of the Zelda series rather than an adaptation of an existing property such as Ocarina of Time. I imagine this story to be about the meaning of courage. Listing down what I want to see in a movie, Link and Zelda being partners throughout the story. The best Utilisation of the character Zelda I feel is when Link has a relationship to her whether it will be friends, lovers, partners, and etc. Take Skyward Sword, Breath of the Wild, and Spirit Tracks as an example. Ganon always seem to lack character other than being evil (I still think about how excited I was when Ganon in Tears of the Kingdom had mentioned Rauru and that he known Link’s and Zelda’s name, thinking that he knew because he is the same Ganon from a previous life; only for him to just be sitting, not really doing anything, throughout the game though that is just me rambling). Not to say that he needed to be redeemed or have a sympathetic backstory, but I just wanted him to be more than a generic villain.
I don’t have a full story in mind, only parts.
Zelda is the princess of Hyrule and cares a lot for her kingdom. She feels its her duty to serve the land and takes it seriously to the point that it defined her life. She is a skilled fighter but can be a bit arrogant. But when it came time that the kingdom was attacked by Ganon’s forces, her life is torn apart. Her father is killed and Ganon has the Triforce of Power. The only thing she can do is flee from the home she used to deem safe. (I was in the fence on whether to have her split the Triforce of Wisdom like in the first Zelda game). She know the only saviour to the kingdom is the holder of the Triforce of Courage and the Master Sword and had expected a brave knight in shining armour only to find Link. Just a small villager, happy with his life before it was torn to shreds as well. He is small, young, and fearful, a far cry from Zelda’s idealized vision but Zelda has to begrudgingly carry him along the ride. But what made Link the chosen holder is his strength to do what is right despite his fears.
Throughout the story, the two grow a bond, friendship or made siblings, Zelda becomes Link’s teacher with the sword and Link teaches Zelda about appreciating life outside her responsibility.
As for Ganon, I imagine him to be a manipulator of fear which is how he managed to become so powerful. In the history of the Gerudo, it is known that a male born in the tribe will be their king, but they also knew that that king may lead to a road of misfortune. Thus, even Ganon was born he was ridiculed, his mother left to flee the town to save her baby only to pass away in poverty. Ganon is created by fear, and has faced the worst of life, gaining the mindset that one can only maintain control though fear. I am not sure how he would get from the bottom to where he is now, maybe Twin Rova can come into the picture.
For me, you can not have a Zelda movie that is not animated. Many come to studio Ghibli which I can see why, but for me the art is missing something for me. It evokes the feeling of observing the small stuff while I want Zelda to be an adventure, exploring the world. Thus cool colours does not feel like it could work and I see more use of richer colours. I like the movie to be CG more than 2D animated though still invoking the style of 2D art like the games, though not following the Spider verse trend in movies. It would probably be a blend of the art of Skyward Sword and Twilight princess.
If this movie is a trilogy, which I am sure it will be, then I would like the movies to follow an age progression like How to Train your Dragon. We have Toon Link, Young Link, and Link (I mean young, teen/tween, and adult). The second movie will borrow the concept of the alternate world so common in Zelda, an adaptation of Majora’s Mask. A reminder to Link on who he is fighting for. After the first movie, he is lost. His old life is gone, there is nobody to return to. I ask the question of what happens to the hero after their journey is over. Link must learn to carve out his own path, not follow one that is predefined just because of the Triforce.
The final movie will be the return of Ganon which means taking inspiration from Breath of the Wild where Ganon becomes a force of nature, corrupting everything. This is the least I had put my thoughts into, so I don’t have much to say.
Also, make Link talk! It’s not core to his character, it is only there for link to be a player stand in. But now, he is not, he is his own character. ~~Also, maybe he could say “Well escuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu~~
Kirby:
There are so much stuff in Kirby that I am not sure whether we can make this into a trillogy. I wanted to have Nightmare in Dreamland, Return to Dreamland, and a movie about Darkmatter (or Star Allies), though I feel that it is missing out on so many other cool stuff such as Planet Robobot, Tripple Deluxe, Kirby 64. So here are some things that I like to see though not as thought out as Zelda.
Dededee’s villan to friend arc. The reason why I chose Nightmare in Dreamland first is to keep Dededee and Metaknight as an antagonist to Kirby, but I felt like that many like Dededee because of his progression to becoming a friend and so is something that we dont want to miss out in a movie.
Kirby can talk. I don’t think there is any reason why we needed to handycap ourselves in making Kirby a Minion or Wall-E. Would he be less adorable if he didn’t talk? No! I think giving him to ability to talk can help boost his character rather than hinder it without sacrificing much (its like if we give all Donald Duck’s nephews the same personality in the 2017 Ducktales show).
Loooooooore!!!!!! In all seriousness, I think the darkness of Kirby poses as a great contrast towards the light of Kirby. I feel the overall theme of Kirby is, there is more layers than the surface, and is a contributor to why I love Kirby. You can always have a smile in the darkest times.
Metroid:
I only know the broad outline of Metroid and the 2D games (so I can not pull anything from the Prime series) but here is my take.
Samus, stone and cold, many wonder whether there is somebody inside the suit. She rarely talks or even interacts casually with others. You can not see anything under the visor. But in reality, Samus Aran is broken, really broken. Her parents is killed by Ridely, the Chozo who raised her is extinct, her officier and best friend is dead. Is it worth it make relationships when all of them die. She doesn’t want to have any more people killed, she does not want to be hurt again. The first movie is adapting Return of Samus, largely because I don’t know what we could take from the first game. Show the metroids as an actual threat, have them tear down a space station while Samus is in it. May be thoughout the story we see flash backs to her past as she contemplates what she is doing and relating it towards the Chozo’s extinction. Maybe she is projecting her inner anger onto the Metroids. But when it came to the last Metroid, she sees, herself. The reflection on the baby metroid shows young Samus crying as she witnesses Ridely. The yellow glow of Ridely’s eyes transition towards the glow of Samus’s blaster as it fades leaving her standing alone. The Metroid can not reproduce by itself (maybe that can?) so Samus just walks away to her ship, ignoring the baby even when it follows her. But as she is about to leave, she takes one look at the baby and decides to take it with her.
The Metroid movies is about tramua and healing from pain by remembering the people that was lost. She will then lose the baby in the next movie, and would confront herself in Fusion (a parallel to how others see Samus).
Last things to mention, this is live action, not animated.
Mother/Earthbound:
Many argue that Earthbound is more deserving of a tv show rather than a movie, but do we really need to go though every event in the games? As long as the themes and the core story is told, then I feel that it is a worthy adaptation. Now, whether to adapt Earthbound Beginnings, Eathbound, or merge them together. Honestly, I am desperate for a remake or a retelling of the story of Earthbound Beginnings as I find the story of Giygas or Giegue to be very interesting that did not really have its time to shine (which is why I am excited for what the Mother Encore had to offer), so here is my idea. The original story is going to largely stay the same but Giegue is telepathically communicating with Ninten throughout his journey, and Ninten does not know where it is from. Giegue is essentailly Ninten’s guide and motivation because Ninten is the only one with strong PSI from Mary’s family and Giegue is longing to connect with his adoptive family. Ninten is essentially, helping Giegue unknowingly, maybe in his plan but maybe also in his personal troubles. Ninten saved Mary and helped her remember who she was. But in the end all of it is in vain as Gigue can not let go of his anger for his adoptive father, is responsibility to invade Earth from his race. His transformation into Giygas is forshadowed by using PSI with a dark red colour resembling his future form.
Now many come to the conclusion of whether the Mother series should be in Claymation which I think is a good fit. However, I would like to see the movie in Live Action but make everything in pratical effects, limit the use of CGI for select few moments such as maybe for Giegue. Make the starman a statue with led lights in its visor, make Master Belch claymation, use puppets, costumes, wires. Make the film look like it is filmed in the 80s. The “No crying until the ending” commercial of the first Mother game should give a good idea of what I am looking for.
Animal Crossing:
Now I am not an Animal Crossing fan but once seeing A fan Animal Crossing TV Show Teaser, I can just imagine the possibilities: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJCHVaj4Axw&ab\_channel=GabrielSalas](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJCHVaj4Axw&ab_channel=GabrielSalas).
A TV show focusing on the daily lives of the villagers. Rumors on why Tom Nook and Redd hates each other, an episode about people wanting to help lessen Isabelle’s workload only for her to find more thinks that she needs to work on, what does the Nooklings do when Tom Leaves the shop. K.K. teaching a village about music.

So those are my ideas on Nintendo themed movies. I would like to hear your thoughts on what you add or what direction you would take.

There’s an “Animal Crossing” anime movie, but good luck finding a DVD copy with English subtitles.
Ok so I mostly agree with the Mother part except for the part where you said it should be Live-action
And a TV would be overall better imo since the different part of the game could be used to go deeper into the characters backstory and develop them
Your idea of Giygas guiding Ninten without sounds like a good idea but would still feel controversial to his final boss’s dialogues
