its not only 3 party devices, also the original go plus.
yeah, I had the issue, and stumbled on the fix myself. I figured something like this would happen. I would not be surprised to see more "surprises" happen with the unofficial catchers.
If you click on troubleshooting or device quick start, it'll start working.

I have a gotcha, I just have to go and toggle the catch and spin tabs on and off and it starts working.
Omg the sht u say u jus need 2 stop u know u got them twitter fingers
Much simpler fix:
1. Go into the device settings
2. Turn off and dircetly turn back on the options for:
– Pokemon nearby
– Pokestop nearby
– Push notification (not sure if you need this, but i have it activated…)
3. Done. Just wait 10-15 seconds and your gotcha should start catching pokemons / spinning pokestops again 🙂

Uh, the way I fixed it was by turning off and both of the identify" settings.
And yes, Niantic can't communicate for jacksquat. There was one time when they simply disabled all Pokemon Go plus functions 'cause a bug allowed you to catch a duplicate of your own buddy. It was disabled for a whole weekend and took them day and a half to write something on Twitter.
Who was it?
Mine starts working when I just open that part of the settings. I don't have to reconnect it…. Just opening that page fixes it
