but does it still take 3 years to load the inventory on switch?
NedStark4Life
What’s the file size for the patch?
incrushtado
Can you transfer progress between Switch version and PS4/PS5/PC?
Ttm-o
This is one of those rare games I can’t wait to replay it again after it’s beaten.
johnbarber720
They updated fall damage, after all this time lol?
rondolphin
Guess I gotta buy on switch now 🫡
fender0327
That’s a lot of updates!

Ugh. Another quest? I guess I’ll have to reinstall at some point. Can’t have an unfinished quests.

Final update: Switch storage settings breaks down the file structure a bit. Base game is 14.4gb, update data is 9.8gb, all dlc is 6.6gb, for a total 30.9gb. Checking the language settings, the game now includes all text languages but none of the audio packs, that is still just English. The other audio languages are still optional downloads from the eShop and are included in the Complete Edition. This does make more sense now as including text is significantly smaller than including the audio too. The 9.8gb update likely includes everything since 4.0 including the gameplay tweaks, bug fixes, upgraded cross saves, new quests, new armor sets, all language text packs, etc. The eShop does download the 2 expansions + free dlc pack automatically, this was previously a manual task if you owned them. 10gb is still surprisingly big for an update considering it is 1/3rd of the total game size. Must have a lot of updated assets, or maybe the text packs are bigger than I think.
—————original comment————-
Edit: Going through all the eShop listings, the file size breakdown is as follows: base game – 24.3gb(up from ~14gb previously, likely due to new content + all language packs included+ KR/CN language added), Hearts of Stone – 1gb, Blood and Wine – 5.3gb, “16 free dlc” pack – 128mb. This adds up close to the 30.9gb game size. Seems eShop will detect and automatically download any relevant dlc’s even if downloading the base game. The now mandatory language packs cause the total file size to grow 10gb.
Edit2: Another mystery, with each language pack being around 2.2gb(some are bigger) and there being 7 of them for a total of ~15.4gb. This doesn’t add up to the 30.9gb download, but it does add up to the 39gb of the complete edition perfectly. Doing a fresh redownload now and will check each language option in game. Could be that the slider shows more languages than currently installed which would signify a bug and other assets making up the difference.
Edit3: Could be the 14.5gb base game from v3.6 plus 15.4gb of language files to bring it to 29.9gb with 1gb being the new Netflix content to get the total 30.9gb the Switch reports. Leaves no room for the dlc and still doesn’t explain why eShop lists base game as 24.3gb though…
Anyone’s game file size increase by 10gb compared to v3.6 previously? I believe Complete Edition full download was around 30gb. You also had access to the digital copy of the standard base game and its separate dlc’s in your library if you bought CE. By downloading the base game + all dlc packs separately and excluding language packs, it brought down the size close to 20gb. 10gb savings by removing language packs was huge.
Just installed the update and now its back to 30gb. From the language settings menu, seems to include all the language packs, which might explain the 10gb difference. Complete Edition on eshop now lists as 39gb so maybe the additions to this update are just bigger? Going to redownload and see if I can omit those language packs I don’t use.

Performance is good and seems similar to 3.6 but will update this comment after I go back to some areas that had dips like Novigrad and Crookback Bog.
Cross save seems to work fine, just need to link to GOG account. Should work for steam versions of game on PC too.

Finally I can start my nth play after I finished it on the xbox.
Artiwa
wait what can i also bring my file from switch to ps?
tommycahil1995
Just finished the battle of Kaer Morhen but have to play the DLCs so this is nice. Recently booted up my old PS4 saves and nice to think I can now transfer between Switch and PS5 too.
EtheusRook
Those armor sets look great, but Witcher 3 gear is mostly pointless because there’s no reason to use anything other than the crafted sets.
kruegerc184
How is this game on the switch? I have it on pc but wouldnt mind having it while laying on the couch
MacMurka
I’m very happy to see the fall damage getting nerfed. No reason Geralt should be dying when jumping off a three foot ledge when he fights monsters and survives lol
Forgetheriver
Anyone else have tips for playing this game? I got kinda discouraged by the cost of items in game and having a hard time keeping up with the enemies when they were so much more stronger than me.
Gregasy
How is the game on Switch Lite? Does it run and look good? How are loading times?
I’d love to finally play the game, but knowing me, I won’t bring myself to play it on my PC. I’m enjoying playing on handheld much more.
