Same rumor has been going around for 5 years…
LoveSikDog
I keep seeing early 2024, so my guess is an September/October reveal..
Stumpy493
Switch Joycon manufacturer still can’t make a functioning joystick, so not sure I trust their insight.

I’ve been through so many rounds of humors since the Switch released and I was also there for the odyssey that was the NX era. For the past Switch successor rumours I never paid them any mind, and I was proven right when they wouldn’t pan out.
But guys… I’m feeling the stomach tingles again. The same ones I felt during the lead up to the Switch reveal in 2016. I’m seeing the same patterns again. Yeah we’re definitely getting some big news before the year ends. Imma trust my gut this time.

Feels like a done deal. Multiple OEM leaks and comments, and the stuff in the MS/BAK FTC case all say the same thing.

I don’t believe it. Switch is still selling really well and releasing a next gen console right now doesn’t seem very prudent unless there is backward compatibility.

With some switch games likely coming out in 2024, we likely won’t be getting any new console next year, and if we do, it’s likely going to be just a Switch 2 or something
NNovis
Really don’t believe this. I can see next year as the time when they start building up hype but releasing it next year? Current Switch is still selling pretty well. We are in the decline of things, however.
My guess is they are making a significantly more robust locking mechanism, which if my read is correct, I’m all for the redesign. Just give us hall effect sensors like what I swapped into my current joycons and I’m onboard 1000%.
That or keep the internals roughly the same for the joysticks so I can just get hall effect sensors.
Either way it looks like it’s all a more robust locking mechanism so lets get it.

The timeline here is all anyone needs to know this is nonsense. early 2024 is just way, way too soon.

Alright! I think it’s time we go back to r/tomorrow
It’s time people!!!

Early 2024 works if it’s a completely backwards compatible unit, down to the cartridges.
However, if Super Mario Odyssey 2 is meant as a launch title, which some suspect, it’s surprising to me that they are also releasing 2 Mario games this holiday season. 3 big Mario games within 6 months is a lot. Metroid seems too niche to be a launch title. It’s also feels too soon for a brand new Pokémon generation. Perhaps one of the Zelda remakes coupled with Metroid?
Early 2025 feels like a more natural date with what we know (and suspect from historical data).
Ttm-o
I’m ready for whatever it is to be announced.

Hoping a new Metroid Prime is a launch title. Perhaps Mario Odyssey 2 but I’m willing to be Odyssey 2 will be releases on the Switch and this new console much like how BotW was.
Mattsfiesta
You know why they won’t release the sequel to The switch in the spring? Because if they do that, the holiday season before, everyone is going to choose not to buy the switch because they’re going to wait for the new system coming out a few months later. I truly do not believe, with how well the switch is selling right now, that they will choose the release the sequel to the switch at any point other than the holiday season. It’s either going to be 2024, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was 2025.

Another day, another rumor. And I already see all those dumb youtubers eating it up despite being proven wrong multiple times. But hey, keep guessing, maybe you get it right once 🤣

Um the article is shit, PS5 came out in 2020, it’s been 3 years since it came out. There is talk of a PS5 Slim…
astro-noodle
Maybe they’re starting manufacturing in early 2024, skeptical of post 2023 holiday release.
red_dollar
Did I make a mistake by just recently buying a switch?
dannyphantomfan38
i doubt it, Nintendo purposefully puts out fake info in order to find out who is leaking info
Tidus1117
My guess is:
January 2024 Reveal
March 2024 Release
Also I wonder if we will see a $50 drop on Switch prices or maybe some new bundles for Black Friday?
