Certainly better late than never. There was some doubt as to whether they would ever come out of maintenance but will and it’s good that they have continued to support it.

This is nice for the few people still playing. Who is still playing on the WiiU? That number has to be so small. Like the system sold terribly to mostly Nintendo die hards that most likely bought a Switch. I’m sure there are still some hold outs because of the free online and jaded and delusional Nintendo fans that still claim the WiiU is a better platform than the Switch, but it has to be like less than 100k people still booting up the WiiU regularly. I bet that’s why they left it down so long. Just freezing out the last remaining stragglers hoping they move on.
